Needs work

Had my 2TB B2 for about 18 months and up till now have been using my PC to re-name etc. Loaded the IOS app today and have mixed feelings. When you browse and locate an artist and choose an album and then a track and press play it just goes back to the song that was playing before I started browsing and this seems to happen a lot, it is day one though, maybe I’m missing a step in the process! I’ll still use the PC for naming albums and tracks that the player doesn’t recognise as it’s more convenient but if the App can be spruced up and running smoothly it’ll be great operating the B2 from my iPad Mini.

“Any iPhone?”

Allegedly, any iPhone on the same network can connect to my B2.

Mine does and works reasonably well. My wife’s won’t.

When attempting to connect between Brennan and the second iPhone, the app claims that BrennanVB doesn’t exist. It then tells me that there’s no Brennan on the network. Doors to manual and enter the B2 address manually - same result.

1) switch off my iPhone completely - same result.

2) reboot Brennan and the second iPhone - same result.

3) restart the network, reboot Brennan and iPhone - same result (my phone has been switched off for all the above)

Both out laptops can connect at the same time by using the old and new web interfaces without problem.

But the app is intransigent.

Woeful

The Brennan kit is good (I own a B2 and, despite its many quirks, is a great bit of hardware), however the app which is integral to enjoying the B2 is incredibly poor.

Recommendation - stop releasing new hardware products and get the basics right. The UI is laughable and connection is patchy at best.

You can - and should - do better.
