Ratings and Reviews
New Bus App
Honestly, was pleasantly surprised with the new app, normally when companies make new apps they end up being worse than the old one but this one works very well with a lot more very helpful features. The real time updates are pretty good and having full timetables to hand within the app rather than having to go onto the website is a very handy when you may be unsure when the next bus is.
Only thing I would ask to add is the ability to use PayPal to pay for tickets like you could do before on previous apps.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the review. We're really pleased you like the new app. And thanks for the suggestion around PayPal. It wasn't very popular on the old app, so we didn't include it in this one. But a few people have asked for it back so we'll speak with the dev team around looking that as a future option.
Lost down the rabbit hole of development
This is a classic case of trying to find a reason to develop an app when there is no reason. I would guess a committee of people were involved who all new what was needed, each with their own agenda, without actually understanding what users required. Primarily the original app was so, so very simple to use, the ticket purchase (the reason for having this app) was a breeze. There was a map on which you tapped the bus stop marker to see when the next bus was. Believe me, this simplicity when your walking to the bus stop ordering a ticket and checking the next bus is priceless.
Now we have some overblown app, remarkably cramming in loads of functions that are of no value for its purpose. This is a step back in so many ways. The purchase cycle is now cumbersome and a terrible user experience. I apologise if this upsets the UX and UI designers on this, but this is poor and outdated design, at least 5 years behind. A close second goes to whoever managed the implementation, no thought whatsoever has been given to a smooth transition path for users, including switching off the functions of the old app two weeks before the stated date!!! There is now also no PayPal option, which is a pain for anyone who doesn’t like registering card details with apps. The overriding question at the end is Why?
Good just 1 problem
This app is great, easy to use and much better than the last one however, my phone accidentally screen shotted the tickets twice (new iPhone update when you touch the back of your phone you can screen shot) and this has happened twice each time I was logged out of my account and was unable to get back in and I wasn’t allowed on the bus as the app had logged me out, it then said my account will be suspended if It happens again, this is a big issue for me as I’m always rushing on the bus and it does accidentally screen shot would be much easier if it didn’t log you out as it creates such a nightmare especially when your in a rush. Other than that it’s great! Just make sure you don’t screen shot your tickets 🤣
