Excellent app!! Even better that it's free!
Me and my other half have been talking about the fact we wanted to learn sign language for ages. We looked for local courses available but didn't have much luck. We read that much of British Sign Language derives from the alphabet so found this app and downloaded it, within an hour we knew the alphabet off by heart and can now hold conversations, albeit basic ones, in BSL...which is awesomely funny when you're sitting on the tube surrounded by people!
We have every intention of learning more but for the basics this app is brilliant!!!

5 stars for if it was for someone who is a beginner. I'm not deaf or my family but I'm 12 and learnt sign language when I was very little. I know all the signs already. it is very useful for others but not for me I'm a more advanced, wish u didn't have to pay for the better ones. I would definatley recommend smart hands lite. That has sayings and stuff!!!
Extremely useful
This app is a very useful reference for learning BSL spelling, the only that I think would be a very good improvement is Left handed spelling. Perhaps a setting on the info page for left or right dominant. Otherwise it's very hard to figure out the sign.
