TNT Sports Box Office 17+

I have just preordered the UFC fight card. BT BoxOffice don’t have a PlayStation or Xbox app at the time of writing this so wanted to see how else could get on the big screen. Downloaded this app and attempted to AirPlay their promo vid, it didn’t work. It mirror to the Apple TV, but when it comes time to play a video through the app, either you get the audio on the Apple TV but no visual or you get nothing. The reason why i think it doesn’t work is because the player is built in the app instead of feeding through the website stream & so doesn’t allow for proper refresh. The app is in other words broken and not fit for purpose. I did find a workaround. If you login through their website whilst mirroring, then find the video you want to watch (live event) then press play. After you’ve done this, click the bottom right tab which allows you to enlarge or small the stream, then hit refresh on the website and press play. You will see once successful it will say on the black screen that airplay is active. I did notice sometimes it said this but wouldn’t let me press the play button, if it does this then keep fiddling with the bottom right screen enlarger tab until you get the feed on the Apple TV. This is not ideal at all & I’m probably going to ring BT to cancel. Shame they hold a PPV, then make it this difficult for people to actually purchase it. I expect better BT!

The aim of this app is to make the user experience as terrible as possible. The UI is very clunky, stream freezes at times and you have to restart the app, worst of all when you screen mirror to AppleTV, the stream is blank and you just get audio.

The only option to cast is to a chrome cast , now why on earth would they have that option on an iOS app uk it sure, but anyway I managed to get the fight casted via chrome cast and it took me to the beginning of the stream. There’s then no video controls to fast forward or just get to the Live part of the stream.

Forced to watch through hooking up my laptop to the TV via HDMI and then chrome kept crashing with the stream after about 20 mins. App needs a complete rewrite by people who weren’t trying to make the worst app possible

Just paid £20 for UFC 296 and then realised that I am unable to download the box office app on my Xbox, PlayStation and my smart TV so now the only way for me and four of my friends to watch 6+ hours worth of fights is to huddle around an old iPad mini. What an absolute farce that a company worth hundreds of millions of pounds makes you pay £30 a month for a subscription and then when finally the big fight nights come around they charge you an extra £20 for it (a week before Christmas as well) and to top it all off they can’t even create an app that is available for download on all devices. Joke
