Great app. Puts sky to shame.

Great app. High resolution streams. Makes a mockery of the terrible sky app. Edit: Not sure what’s happened, the app is still good but the sound is now going out of sync and the app keeps crashing. Seems like another case of unnecessary updates that make things worse. Dropped a star till stability and sound issues a re fixed.

A few months later.

App has gotten better crash wise, still leaving a star off because it won’t play in PiP or background. Even if I just quickly open something else it just closes the app instantly. Not good, even the horrific sky app will minimise the picture. So when i watch something on this app it completely renders my iPad useless until I’ve finished. Poor.

I don’t understand why the app varies from device to device so it can be impossible to find something on the mobile app that is available on a Roku for example. The content is organised in a mess too. I just want to view the day’s racing content in a way that’s logocal. Ideally you’d have qualifying in an obvious location or each race listed so it’s easily accessed. There’s also no option to continue watching what you last accessed which is such basic functionality. Also, it’s slow to add content, sometimes a day later it’ll appear. For example, wanting to watch MotoGP qualifying on a Saturday afternoon is impossible. The streaming to my LG tv only works for a while before losing connection which is annoying. I use the spoiler free area as I can’t usually watch live and last week it showed the winner of the moto2 race. That’s for ruining that for me! I’ve not seen any obvious improvements which is a real shame. Could be so much better than it is.

Thanks to the app developer for responding to my complaints below. While the advice to choose standard view means it remembers where I was, I still have to reselect the replay from the rugby union homepage, then choose standard before it goes back to where it was before. Also finding recent full replays seems to be a matter of potluck as sometimes they’re visible on the rugby union page, other times the only way to find a recent game is to search via the club tab itself. When this happens the full replay list is showing a mix of some recent games and games from end of last season. Also found that the quality of replay is often very variable, frequently v poor and picture freezes while audio continues. I know this isn’t my internet connection as it happens when I’m at home where I have speeds in excess of 80Mbps. Why is the streaming quality from your servers so poor?

Hi Life Scientist, thanks for getting in touch. The Enhanced Player doesn't yet support resuming from where you left off. If that is more important to you than using the other "Enhanced" features, then I suggest you pick "Standard Player" when you watch a Replay. With Standard Player it should remember where you are the next time you come to watch the same programme.

As for finding "Replays", we do have a "Event Replays" carousel a few rows down on the app home page, but I'll mention to the team that you think a Replays section in its own right would be a good idea. Thanks again for getting in touch. Antony
