BT Sports App

I’m pleased to say that I’m now very happy with the BT Sport App. Previously I had experienced difficulties using AirPlay on my old Apple TV, but since replacing it I can now cast from my mobile device or watch through the downloaded Apple TV App.
I had originally thought that the problem was with the App, but thanks to the assistance of Antony I’m experiencing no more difficulties. Many thanks.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. Can you please let us know what you are doing when you get that error? Are you using the app on the Apple TV itself? or are you Airplaying from your phone to your Apple TV? Please email us at tv.apps@bt.com and we can help.Let us know your BT ID, and also the version of Apple TV that you are using. Thanks - Antony

Casting still not working for replays

Update: After over a year now the developers still have not enabled the ability to cast anything labelled ‘Replay’ (like UFC events) to Apple TV from an iOS device. There used to be a workaround, to enable screen mirroring but recently they thought it wise to remove this option - even though you can still use chromecast (maybe they don’t like Apple users)?

Anyway, if you’re looking to cast replays of UFC events in the mornings from iPhone/iPad to Apple TV it won’t work. On top of that, they often don’t have the replay available until after lunchtime the following day so you’ll have seen the spoilers by then anyway!

Previous review: Anything labelled as “replay” still fails to cast to Apple TV. Reported this issue 5 months ago and been back and forth with support for all that time. Apparently, they will now only look at fixing this known bug if more than 20 people complain (so get complaining if it is a problem for you too).

Developer Response ,

Hi SpeedDemon79 - Customers entitled to Large Screen access have been able to Chromecast or Airplay Replay events for a long time. Just select the "Standard Player (for casting)" option when you click the Replay. Do you have Mobile Only access? Or are you seeing an error? Or is it failing to find your device to airplay to? If you have any other information then I'm sure we can help. Thanks - Antony

Frustrating

I only use it for MotoGP on AppleTV and to be honest it is highly frustrating. If you miss the live broadcast you have to wait days to watch the replay, why can’t you do it immediately like other services allow? Also, the MotoGP replay is uploaded as a 5 hour block with no bookmarks to get to each race etc, it takes me about 20 minutes just to scroll through to the bit I want to watch. It’s been like this for years and shows no sign of improvement.

It must be embarrassing now as ITV now have a better spoiler page, play the race replay before you and they do it for free. You need to up your game.

Developer Response ,

Hi, thanks for getting in touch. We have the MotoGP replays available straight after the event, if you see it missing anywhere then let us know. When you click a replay, then choose "Enhanced Player", this allows you to then select the different races or chapters, and you get the timeline of key events for each race. When you start the chapter is probably called "Build Up". Touch the screen and click that button to select the race you want. I hope this helps. Thanks - Antony
