Description
BTT Remote (BTT stands for BetterTouchTool) is a great remote control for your Mac. It allows you to take almost full control over your Mac and all the apps installed on it.
BTT Remote is free, however it requires BetterTouchTool running on your Mac (you can download a 45 day trial from www.bttremote.com)
Your iPhone must be in the same WiFi network as your Mac, enterprise networks may not work.
Note: BTT Remote will not work with Microsoft Windows
Features:
• Includes a nice trackpad to control your Mac's mouse cursor. The trackpad also supports basic multitouch gestures
• Remotely type or dictate text to your Mac
• Remotely access media keys from your Mac's keyboard (play/pause, change the volume, change the brightness for internal and external displays, etc. )
• Remotely access and use any app's menubar
• Configure global actions that work in every application.
• Assign custom icons to each action you configure.
• Configure arbitrary app specific actions for any application you want. With those actions you can control almost anything on your Mac. If you want to see what is possible please checkout BetterTouchTool first.
• Browse your file system (e.g. to start a movie or application while lying in bed)
• Transfer files (up to 6 MB) from your Mac to your iPhone and view them or share them there.
• Navigate between different applications
• Ability to increase cursor size and zoom the screen for convenient control while e.g. sitting on your couch.
• The iPhone version is designed to allow full control with only one hand
• Supports portrait and landscape mode
• Many settings to customize the app

Software that can make you believe in things again.
BetterTouchTool, on its own is an incredible program that allows you to get closer to your Mac, by allowing you to interact in ways that suit YOU best. It’s highly advanced, but also simple to use. I’ve been a proud user of it for years, and I’ve worked with and around Macs for my whole life. It’s the first thing I install on a new system.
That’s before we even get to BTTRemote. This addition to the BetterTouchTool ‘suite’ if you will was unexpected, but quickly became another must-have feature for me. Now, there are many ‘remote control’ apps available for Macs and iOS devices, but this is built into BetterTouchTool already (great), which gives you not just perfectly-implemented simple control (which seems superficially simple but - try the other remote apps and you’ll see how much effort the developer went to with BTTRemote’s mouse tracking etc), but also access to the virtually unlimited control abilities of BetterTouchTool.
I could go on forever. Put simply, this is a wonderfully conceived and expertly implemented piece of software - the kind of software that makes us Mac owners’ smugness JUSTIFIED and then some. Anything that allows you to control your Mac more easily, more expertly is worth so much in terms of time and ease. It narrows the gap between what you want to get done, and getting it done. So get it NOW! Hehehe. But seriously
This programmer is my hero
This app is as well coded as btt, which is by far the most beautiful and easy-to-use software for the amount of configurations it can do. The full license for it is dirt cheap. It makes my keyboard + touch-bar a million times more beautiful. It is so gorgeous, I dont look at my wife anymore
Works well once you get it set up
Took a few minutes to get it to actually connect through my firewall, but now it's working like a dream.
Not mentioned in the features is that this also appears to be quite secure - everything but mouse movements is protected with TLS encryption using strong settings, so nobody will be able to sniff your typing from wifi captures.
