New Burger King Clydeside Glasgow

Just visited newest Burger King in Glasgow today. Having seen the new restaurant/drive thru getting built from scratch I was over the moon when I seen the Burger King sign on the building and anticipated the opening with optimism. I wasn’t disappointed, food was great and the staff very friendly and helpful with the issues I had with the app when ordering. B.K burgers are by far the best on the market, that distinctive taste is always a pleasure to experience, real veg….a tomato that actually resembles a tomato is delightful and the fries are like no other, crispy and a joy. As with any new establishment there are going to be a few minor issues, that’s to be expected. I will be a regular and your rivals Mc ???? up the road have competition on their hands. Keep up the good work B.K and welcome to the neighbourhood. 😀😀

Vouchers confusion

We eat at Burger regularly and use the App all the time for great offers, but since lockdown it’s all a bit confusing. We visited Southend High Street twice and were told no vouchers or app offers could be used, even though they were still handing them out and the offers were now being offered after stopping for a while, due to COVID-19. We decided to visit Burger King Pipps Hill Basildon drive-thru to see if they did whopper Wednesday as the App advertised it. We were told no sorry no whopper Wednesday even though the App offered it and I asked about any other offers on the App and was told to come inside if I wanted to use more than one voucher. I when inside and I could get a whopper Wednesday to take out and use as many offer vouchers as I please to takeout, which we did and sat in the car park the same as we would have done if we had made our purchase through the drive-thru. It doesn’t make much sense to me apart for making my purchase abut more inconvenient and I don’t know why you can offer different things inside and out with the App

App works well but impossible to use

Might seem a contradiction that headline but the major problem with this app is that it’s set up to make mobile ordering easy yet none of the BK restaurants close to me are able to take mobile orders. There seems to be no filter in the restaurant search to filter out those I can actually use the app to order in advance from. This includes BK flagship restaurant at Leicester Square in the centre of London’s West End. It also fails to differentiate between BK restaurants which I can use the offers here and franchises which pick & chose which offers they chose to honour. For example on the recent free Whopper Wednesday promotion their outlet at Euston Road refused to honour my voucher for a free whopper but was perfectly happy to apply another offer for a £1.99 offer. Thankfully Customer Support was there to help out later but the treatment I received from a member of staff at the restaurant seriously tainted my opinion of the company.

Okay but needs work

Decent app, does the job but does need some improvements:

1) You have to select drive through/collection from store at the point of ordering - I made the choice of drive through, but when I arrived the queue was about 30 cars long. I parked up and went into the store and was giving attitude from the guy behind the counter as I had selected drive through.... its the same food, from the same kitchen, just a different window....?

2) When I was given my food, it was bagged up and ready for me, great I could get away quickly; but if I had sat in the drive through would this had sat there for another 10/15 minutes?

APP DOES NOT WORK!

App (AGAIN) will not work. Black screen of death now. Has BK given up on this app? The previous version never worked and after nearly a year of working fine this newer version has seemed to given up the will to live! I can now fully understand why McDonalds as a business is miles out in front of this company. I honestly believe BK burgers are far superior to McDonalds. Yet, I simply don’t care who produces the better burger now, I would just much rather buy from a business who cares about their delivering a reasonable customer experience.

And NO, I will not waste anymore of my time writing to contact your task email about the problem I have experienced. That’s kinda your job to resolve. So pull your finger out, pay for a decent app (here’s a tip, download the McDonalds app and see why they are smashing the fast food business compared to yourselves) or go the way other very big high street businesses have in the last year who have rested too much on their laurels!

Missing food

First time I’ve used the Burger King app, ordered on the app and arrived 25 minutes later to pick up, there must be a better system as told them we were here at the drive through ordering station and waited for 15 minutes to get to pick the food up and when we drove up to the window the order hadn’t even been started to be put together, it took the guy a further 10 minutes to give the food over and unfortunately 2 items were missing from the order, it looked like utter chaos in the kitchen with staff shouting at each other, first and last time, hopefully Bracknell will get their own one soon so on the odd occasion we have a Burger King it wouldn’t be hassle if there is missing food, ie not worth driving to Wokingham for a missing burger and 20 nuggets

Zero Stars

Have tried multiple times to add my credit card details on the mobile app and get this error:

“Something went wrong
Credit card details may be incorrect or we
are experiencing issues with your card,
please try again or check with your bank.”

Also logged a call, their response:

“ Thank you for reaching out to Digital Support. I sincerely apologize that you recently experienced multiple payment issues, and can understand your frustration.

I suggest that you delete your current payment methods from the app and add them again, ensuring that there aren't any dashes or spaces in the credit card number. To add or remove a credit card on your profile, kindly follow these steps:
Click the “Account” icon in the top-right corner of the app or website
Click “Payment Methods”
Add a credit card, or
Remove a credit card by clicking the minus sign next to the card you wish to delete

In addition, please check that your billing information and address are inputted correctly on the app as well. Lastly, please log out of your account and sign back in to ensure everything is up to date.

Also tried via the website on a different device (laptop) and same error.

NOTE: Deals NOT valid in some shops.

This would be a great app if you changed the deals more often but my biggest gripe is that the deals are not valid in all your shops! It’s misleading for you to say ‘ANYTIME, ANYWHERE’, when it’s clearly not! I went into one location to use a deal an the restaurant point blank refused to honour the offer as ‘it is a franchise’ and the owners are not participating in the promotions. I fed this back via a phone call to your customer services who could not offer any resolution apart from saying that the franchisees were not obliged to honour the offers. It’s a bit stupid to have your store finder on the app, as using it to find your nearest Burger King to use the app offers could be pointless, since your app doesn’t tell consumers if it’s a shop that will refuse to honour the offers. Bit of a waste of time really! Not clever, and embarrassing for your customers who go into your shops to use the app!

Just disappointed

I ordered on the app and used some of the points I had…… or tried at least.
When I got to the drive thru there was no order, so they had to redo the order which cost nearly £10 more, as the points can only be redeemed via the app. It took a long time to make the order due to the issue with the app and the time it took for the meal to come out, which was embarrassing. I was genuinely conscious of the customers behind, probably questioning what we were getting 4 meals 2 adults and 2 children!!! I hadn’t requested anything out of the norm!!! By the time the meal came we had drank our drinks and to only add insult to frustration the points for the £40 order (or there bouts) hadn’t been added to the app!!!! I could have went to Five Guys for that price - the sooner they do a drive thru the better.
Very disappointed again!

Horrid service at Teesbay retail park

Went there yesterday to get food - staff at the counter rudely asked us to use the self service machine and then decided to serve the customer who came in only seconds after us. Unfortunately we couldn’t use our voucher on the machine - mind you she knew we had a voucher and told us it would work on the machine...it didn’t. So we had to wait several minutes for someone to come take our order at the counter. James(store manager) eventually came out - no apologies for delay (abt 10 minutes) and took our order. The worst part is that we got home and realised that we did not have what we had ordered. We live miles away...it was my son’s birthday and he wanted Burger King so we made the journey as a treat for him. He ended up not even getting the burger he wanted as the order was wrong. Very disappointing experience and not even deserving of the 1 star given.
