Calligraphy Calm - Ink Painter is a minimalist art app in the tradition of Chinese and Japanese painting and calligraphy.
Create a realistic, fluid ink painting effect on your iPhone and iPad with the swipe of your finger!
Practice the art of simplicity and capture the essence of your subject.
OUR BRUSHES
Our brushes create a dynamic 'tapered' line effect, which produces a beautifully organic feel for handwritten typography and drawing.
Try overlaying brush strokes and you will find the ink colours merge with the paper texture.
Move your finger QUICKLY to increase the thickness of the line and SLOWLY to get a really thin line. This is what makes our brushes unique.
Bigger brushes produce a rougher line texture.
SPECIAL FEATURES
To keep the app in line with Asian traditional painting you can add:
• Ornamental borders to frame your art or calligraphy
• Red stamps in the style of Chinese chops (choose from 22 designs)

Good just one thing...
I love it! It’s super fun and therapeutic. The only thing is I think they should either make you pay for nothing or pay for everything, you get one colour and four brushes. Also I would like to see a rubber/eraser not just clear screen and undo and the stamps are a bit glitchy but overall very nice game

Thanks for the review. There is an eraser tool with the Pro upgrade. We have chosen to have no Ads on the app, so you can properly try it first and upgrade if you want more features.
Love this App
Complete beginner at Sumi e painting and was looking for an app to practice getting into a calm state of mind. The difficulty for beginners is when doing Sumi e with physical ink and paper, you can get frustrated and disheartened quite quickly. This app is perfect for practice of calming the mind. I’m sure a Sumi e master artist would be horrified at the representation of the brush strokes but the digital world can never compete with the physical. The app is absolutely worth it. Really has made my journey into calligraphy and sumi e painting so much more fun. Thank you to all the developers ❤️

Meditative way to train my Calligraphy skills
I’ve been using this for about a week now and find myself using it whenever i get a spare five minutes or when watching tv. It’s so simple, and the gentle effect of the brushes really replicates the look of ink on paper! I feel much calmer after a session, and with my hectic life, that’s quite something! So thank you!
