Description
Caves of Lore is a turn-based, pixel-art, fantasy CRPG that combines elements of environmental exploration and character interaction with tactical, grid-based combat.
I'm a self-taught solo-dev who built this passion project over 6 years while holding down a full time job and raising a family. I dedicated myself to work 5 minutes a day no matter what, and built the game piece by piece, not really knowing where I was going or how it would all end.

Thank you for all your suggestions on how to make Caves of Lore better. I've updated the game with New thumbstick options, Better controller support and Rebinding, External audio support, Screen rotation and zoom options, Better Character Creation info, Updated Abilities and other QoL features. Finished!
Played through to the ending and had a blast, the best RPG I’ve played since FF3, plenty to explore and find and I didn’t even find all the secrets on the way. Will play again and choose a different skill set. You can have six characters in your team and I found 3 that I had to leave out so will be able to have a different team too. Hope the developer makes a sequel as it would be great to see what happens through the final portal. Highly recommended.

Interface and gameplay - great. Story and quests - great. Immersive puzzles and secrets - great.
Thank you for an enjoyable, deep experience. Nowhere near finished yet… lots of more little moments of joy to come.
Happy to support an indie dev who made a game that’s fun. Too many games feel like a grind or just lose pace/quality. You can feel the effort that has gone into this one.
Great RPG
Good variety in the exploration. Good variety in the combat. I like the way characters gain experience as they use skills but you can also train them and bump up skills as you level. Still early doors but the story seems interesting and some of characters are quite funny. Currently playing Baldurs Gate 3 at the same time and this, given its scope, does not feel bad.
