Description

This is not an app to find standard accessible (RADAR or disabled) toilets. Changing Places are different to standard accessible (disabled) toilets. There are over 1800 changing places toilets in the UK - and others worldwide. This App allows you to find your nearest facility by searching a specific location, find how to get there, how to get in, and what facilities are there.

Changing Places offer the facilities of a standard accessible toilet for disabled people but with extra space (7m² originally and now 12m²), an adult changing bench and a hoist (you will need to bring your own sling). These are essential for people who have a carer or profound and multiple learning disabilities or cannot reasonably use standard accessible toilets. It includes 600 'U' toilets and Space2Change toilets. They are both very similar to standard accessible toilets for disabled people and typically also have a hoist and an adult sized changing bench, but do not comply with the full Changing Places standard, often due to limited space or having corner toilets.

Our website at www.changingplacesmap.org has a similar toilet finding map, which has enhanced functionality that is made practical when matched by the larger screens and greater processing power of a PC. It includes multiple routes and extra search functions.

This app replaces the first ever phone app for Changing Places, which was launched by us in August 2015.

Oh Doh ,

Free & Useful

For those needing the information this app provides it is excellent. I find the app easy to use and am glad I have it.

Functional, but needs some TLC

Functional in terms of identifying Changing Places, showing details and showing it on a map.

Features it needs:
- Ability to call out to Google or Apple Maps for directions and navigation
- Modern UI
- iPhone X full screen support

Developer Response ,

Thankyou Matt,
The simplicity of the user interface belies the sophistication behind it. It is clearly focussed on being accessible to people with visual or coordination issues, rather than being trendy. That will not change.
It has always given directions and navigational info, even including bus and train timetables to get to the toilet. They are found by pressing the red button saying "Directions"
It works with iPhone X but will have updated, full support in just a few weeks.

If you had given a little more information, maybe we could have incorportaed any good ideas that you had.
