Description

"Where does all my money go?" A paper cheque register can't categorize your transactions or report cash flow over time, and it'll never balance itself. Other finance apps are like medieval torture devices, so full of features you don't need that they're actually painful to use. What you really need is a friendly personal finance tool that gets the basics just right and keeps things simple. That's where we come in. Introducing CheckBook 2, your powerfully simple personal finance manager.

Precisely manage your finances
• Find transactions with simple searches or combine search criteria to really drill into your data
• Reconcile your accounts to the penny
• Schedule transactions that repeat periodically, like monthly bills and paycheques
• Track cash flow over time with customizable reports so you can see where your money came from and where it’s going

Import from other personal finance apps or your bank
• Strong support for OFX, QFX, QIF, CSV and Text
• Import from Quicken® Essentials for Mac and Quicken for Mac 2015 and later

Share and sync your data
• Sync with other users on a local network
• Sync with iCloud

And more
• Manage accounts in multiple currencies
• Transfer funds between accounts without creating two transactions (look under the Entry menu or contact us for help)

No-nonsense banking

All I really want from a finance app is a substitute for my old cheque book, to record transactions. (I use a spreadsheet for everything else.) I've tried too many finance apps that try to do too much. I was about to give up after the one I'd been using for the last few years went over to a subscription service, so I'm glad I found this one. It's simple and straightforward and if you don't need to use the more advanced features, you don't have to. It fits whatever you want from it. I just wish there was an iOS version

Brilliant

I too used the MSMoney programme for home accounts for years and following an upgrade to iMac, had to run MSM using VM software, as I hadn't found anything as near as good.

Recent search and found CheckBook, read reviews and for the price I thought I'd give it a go. After running both apps in parrallel for some time, I decided to ditch MSM and now rely on CheckBook. I'm very happy with the app, it has proven to be very stable. Very happy so far.

New Computer - New Personal Finance app required

Recently changed from MS Windows to Apple so needed a new app to keep track of my personal finances as MS Money wasn't an option (as I thought at the time). This seemed to fit the bill.

Just a couple of niggles though when using the schedule for regular monthly payments a commitment procedure is required to allocate these expenses. Not used to this yet and would prefer to have them automatically allocated by the app than having to "commit" them.

Another niggle is that when splitting an expense there isn't an un-allocated amount calculated in the window so I still have to get a calculator out to do this manually.

Perhaps I'm too used to using MS Money where these features are included. Maybe I'll even get used to not having these features.

Still getting used to the app but I'm happy with it so far.
