Description

The Clarion® is a game-changing musical instrument that’s expressive like traditional instruments but also highly accessible. It’s the instrument of choice for thousands of disabled musicians across the UK. It also opens up creative music-making to players who don’t read music and supports therapeutic self-expression.

Play it your way: The Clarion is quick to set up, adaptable, and accessible, featuring engaging play screens. Choose from high-quality instrument sounds, including strings, woodwind, percussion, and brass. The Clarion adapts to players' access needs, skills, and preferences. Notes are shown as coloured shapes; and organisations in Open Orchestras or Clarion Education can customise the sound they make, their shape, size, and layout.

Young musicians love the sound choices, colourful screens, and intuitive playing experience. Play the Clarion on your iPad — it's fun! No need to read notation. You can play by ear, follow a score, play patterns in any order, or create your own.

The Clarion is expressive and offers musical progression like conventional instruments. Start making music within five minutes, though it requires practice to play it well.

All versions include a library of Clarion patterns. Customising notes and creating patterns are available through Open Orchestras and Clarion Education:

Open Orchestras: winner of the 2019 Music Teacher Award for Outstanding Special Educational Needs/Disabilities resource, Open Orchestras is a programme that provides Music Education Hubs, arts organisations and special schools with everything they need to build accessible orchestras. Signing in to Open Orchestras on the Clarion opens up the full Open Orchestras library of Clarion patterns and ‘My Cloud,’ which allows you to share patterns across devices.

Clarion Education: a programme for music education organisations and therapists wanting to use the Clarion in mainstream and special educational needs/disabled music making settings. As part of Clarion Education, music educators receive training in how to use the Clarion. Signing in to Clarion Education opens up additional Clarion patterns and functionality. It does not include ‘My Cloud’.
