Speedy data entry for bills and receipts:
Simply use the Clear Books Mobile App to take a photo of a receipt. Our app will read the photo, extracting information from the image to create a bill or expense. It will save you time moving between devices and screens, and it will eliminate manual data entry!
If you prefer to manually enter purchase information, Clear Books gives you the freedom you need. You can easily upload attachments from your phone’s photo gallery. It’s a simple way to quickly input receipts keeping records safe and sound for HMRC.

Almost a good app
The ability to add bills and purchases and upload receipts while on the go is very useful. Unfortunately it’s let down by some frustrating issues: 1. No pinch to zoom on the attachment images. This wouldn’t be a problem if the OCR worked but unfortunately… 2. OCR doesn’t work for me at all. It has never recognised any useful information from an uploaded receipt. 3. No way of easily filtering the currency list. Maybe have a settings screen so I can decide what currencies to show on that list so I don’t have to scroll through all of them every time? 4. Pasting on the Summary text field when adding a line item doesn’t work. Just make copy and paste work on all the text fields please! What the app is designed to do is probably about right for a mobile version. It just needs some polishing in order to do it better.

I think the previous negative reviews are old and Clearbooks must have made significant improvements because I think the App is really good. In particular the ability to take photos of receipts and store them in the cloud as attachments to invoices has really speeded things up for me.
Poor quality and clunky app
Not very intuitive and far behind others that are out there.
Main issue is I can’t access or view images of bills I’ve stored in the app with the app telling me the attachment no longer exists. Or that there is no image when I know there was one! Not reassuring. Not a quality app and makes accounting an absolute nightmare. Avoid it.
