Clear Spaces 4+

Great widget but held back by one thing.

As the title states this is a great widget for applying blank or clear spaces to your home screen for the appearance of true freedom of widget placement, it is unfortunately held back by the fact that the widget does not reliably update. The time on the clock will not reflect the real current time and the weather portion won't update either without me having to manually delete and re-add the widget to my home screen. This is rather disappointing because everything else about this widget is perfect, I hope you can address this issue in a future update and I'll be more than happy to change my review score to 5 stars when the widget can reliably update.

Annoying clocks glitch

Great app, but…. each time I unlock my phone, analogue clocks show on the mid-sized widgets, as the screen settles into place. It’s really annoying. They disappear once the screen has stopped “unlocking”.

Contacted support email, but no response.

Annoyed I had to pay to find this out and no help from developer!! 😡

Better following update ...

UPDATE: This is now working as advertised and does make for a very good experience. The clear spaces are now clear and without placeholder text as well. Many of this apps issues have been outside the control of the developer, but have been addressed. There are other bugs, but these are down to Apple and are outside developers’ control - 🎄

ORIGINAL: This gets 2 stars for being a great idea, but for iPhone 7 it only works in a very limited way. The idea is simple. Take a picture of a blank Home Screen in dark and/or light mode and then add this to the app’s setup. Choose your widget size and, bingo, it magically shows as blank space on your Home Screen.

But ...

The widget shows “Clear Spaces” under the widget which you cannot edit out. You also need to have perspective turned off completely. Not just for the background snapshot. The end product is an empty space 👍 but the text “Clear Spaces” which is 👎🏻

£2 to find this out ... not impressed.

Hi! Thanks for the review. Both of these issues you mentioned are completely due to Apple’s restriction. There’s nothing we can do about perspective zoom, but we’re working on a fix for the name displaying below the app.
