Works ok; but critically lacks a facility to save your project
I've tried quite a few collage apps from the app store; and they all have their drawbacks. This is the strongest in terms of being able to produce large, attractive poster-sized collages; and it imports photos reliably without crashing.
But, unbelievably, it doesn't have ANY facility to save your work. It's basically a one-off image processor - you can't save a collage and then come back and amend it, you can only export it (as JPEG, TIFF etc). If you want to make any changes after you've finished a collage, you have to start all over again. This is completely rubbish, lazy and infuriating.
Despite that, it remains probably the best actual creator of collages, for all the pain of working and reworking to get round its ridiculous setup.
Useless on M1
Tried this on M1 - regardless the size I output its a tiny version in the bottom corner. 20x16 jopg or PDF same results, A4 Same - 8x11 the middle pics was ok with a tiny version of the collage in the bottom left....
Collagelt Pro
Simple to use and the results looks great even when you let it do it's own thing (random arrangements etc). The free 'Lt' version has limited image resolutions so the Collagelt Pro is worth buying for the higher resolution and variable poster sizes it allows. When used it properly, the range of adjustments and options makes this a very powerful tool whilst remaining inherently intuitive. The only (minor) suggestion I have is for the designers is to add a tag onto the photo menu at the side to show which pictures have been used and how many times they appear. On larger collages it can get difficult to spot duplicates or which picture has not been used. Othewise, excellent work. You can put away the scissors and spray glue forever!
