It works! - even for me!!!!
I consider myself a cloth ears and my ability to distinguish whether one note is higher or lower than another was truly awful. Never know if I'm singing in tune etc etc. This has made a huge difference. After some swift progress I did go for months thinking I was physically incapable of distinguishing harmonic intervals but slowly but surely I’m getting there. Love the game element (and the achievement badges). Also great that it synchs between phone and iPad. I recommend using fairly decent earphones and being prepared to sing to yourself.
Excellent app
Excellent app which goes from simple to fiendishly difficult but with patience and repetition you start opening up the harder levels. (It’s good that you cannot move up through the levels until you have achieved at least 3 stars on each exercise). It’s an amazing feeling to see your progress and know your ear is improving!
I wish I had this as a kid...
As a music teacher / jazz musician this is perfect. It’s laid out in an easy, accessible manner, and really works to improve your aural awareness and is useful to everyone, from a child just starting to a seasoned professional jazz musician. It also covers everything from basic intervals to melodic dictation to complex harmony. Best ear trainer app I’ve seen by far. 10 stars.
