Description

An expert system to connect and use your older Wacom tablet with newer macOS versions - as simple as that!

Connect my tablet is doing exactly that: It connects your Wacom (TM) tablet to your Mac and restores at least its critical functionality to be creative with Photoshop (TM) and other programmes in Sonoma, Ventura, Monterey, Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, HighSierra (newest Connect my tablet version) & Sierra and El Capitan (App Store will download automatically for you the last compatible version 4.1 upon purchase).
For many models and macOS versions, the Wacom preference pane, and therefore most previous functionality, will be working again.
For others, Connect my tablet provides a tool to let you change the most important pen and tablet settings. Connect my tablet also allows the change of settings of the tablet buttons for Cintiq (21 upwards) and Intuos3 tablet users. In addition, we have an additional, free tool (CMT Utility) for Bamboo CTH users on the App Store that allows them to change their tablet button settings. That leaves very few tablets, where pen and most important functions are already restored, but tablet buttons cannot yet be programmed.
Also, for the oldest tablets, the Utility programme from Wacom is no longer supported in the latest macOS versions. It was mainly useful to create backups of the preference settings. Our additional utility tool (see above) allows you to save and restore them (in its first version for Bamboo CTH users only).

As you might have to install and de-install tablet drivers, you will have to have full admin rights on your computer.

Currently Connect my tablet supports and is tested on:
Bamboo: including CTH-460/461/470/661/670, CTL 460/470, MTE-450, CTE-440/450/650 , CTF-430
Intuos: including USB GD and XD series (0 and 2 series); Intuos3 PTZ-430/431/630/631/930/1231W; CTH-series; Intuos4 PTK-440/640/840/540WL and Intuos5 and Pro tablets (e.g. PTH)
Graphire: 2 (ET series),3 (Sapphire, CTE-430/630) and 4 (CTE-440/640) series
Cintiq: including 12WX, 18SX, 20WSX, 21UX, 13HD, DTU-2231 and others
But it works for many more Wacom tablets (like One by Wacom and Intuos CTL tablets) and you can always ask us at enquiry@wptrnpt.co.uk. Actually, the only 4 tablets that we do not currently support are: Wacom One DTC133, Intuos 4 XL PTK-1240 and Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 and Wacom Cintiq Pro 27.

Current setting options for those tablets that not only need reconnection (and then their preference pane works again) but also require settings to be changed via Connect my tablet:

• Tablet/ Stylus connected
• One group of settings for all applications (although with different backups you can be application specific)
• Pen Pressure Sensitivity selectable
• Pen Buttons programmable (keystrokes, modifiers, clicks)
• Eraser programmable
• Double click assistance can be switched off/on
• Definition of the active tablet area
• Definition of the active monitor (currently for up to 3 monitors)
• Definition of the pen/stylus to switch to mouse mode from pen mode
• Change of tablet landscape orientations or to portrait mode (some tablets)
• Pan (Pan/Scroll) mode for pen buttons (for most tablets)
• Definition of tablet buttons (Intuos3, Cintiq 21UX upwards via the reactivated preference pane, Bamboo CTH via an additional tool)
• Functionality to disable pen buttons via Settings Menu and to assign 'Click'

We may add further settings for change if required and feasible. Again, just contact us at: enquiry@wptrnpt.co.uk

Im Going to buy you all a Drink :)

This is has to be one of the best apps i have ever come across for my mac pro 2010
Brought my Wacom Intuos3 back in 2005 to aid me in 3d modeling / sculpture & texturing and it has served me so well for these years. But as soon as i upgraded to macos Mojave my tablet lost all its functions. in fact my tablet just did not respond well at all. So I went to wacom online to get the the latest driver. To my shock & horror my tablet is no longer supported. ( I was like Clay Davis from The Wire " sh---------------------------------------ttt"
Ill be damed if I am going to chuck a perfectly working tablet just because of a lack of driver support from Wacom. After all the hours & days searching for a solution to this. I came across a new CONNECT ......
They are CONNECT MY TABLET. You are all amazing . well done. With the amount of money i have saved I can by you all drink.... To all of you who have an old wacom Tablet to work on the new mac os ...BUY IT........BUY IT....BUY IT.

Worth every penny!

This will breathe new life into your old tablet. I’m successfully using a Wacom Intuous 2 USB with Big Sur, and all features are fully working, including the function “buttons” on the tablet. Connect My Tablet walks you through every step in the process. It takes about 15 minutes or so — don’t try to rush it! Make sure to carefully read the instructions in each step, as there are a bunch. But after I went through the process once, everything worked!

A couple of things: Connect My Tablet instructs you to lay the pen on top of tablet. When I did this, at one point during the setup it began to interfere with my mouse. I removed the pen from the tablet at this point and I was able to complete the setup without issue.

Also, the normal Wacom driver adds a panel into macOS system preferences, which of course no longer works in Big Sur. Connect My Tabelt offers these system settings within the app, and while it restores all of the functionality, the UI is tedious in its behaviour and it’s a little bit cryptic. It takes a little fiddling around until you get things set up the way you like (hence the 4-star rating instead of 5). But a small inconvenience considering you only really need to do this once, and since it saved me shelling out several hundred quid on a new tablet, this is easily overlooked.

If you have an old tablet lying around and you want to get it working again, this will be the best £10 you’ll ever spend.

Thank you very much for you kind and informative feedback! Yes, we will add yet another instruction ( :) )to avoid confusion with the pen interference. It happens typically after a restart and shows that already part of the pen functionality is working, even though some last steps might have to be finished to guarantee full functionality. We also take your point about the settings menu. Like different language versions, it is for a long time on our to do list to improve that User Interface. Being a niche app, we just constantly are in a resource priority battle. But it is at least on the list. Again, thank you very much and all the best!

It does exactly what it says on the tin!

I recently bought a brand new M1 Mac Mini to replace my old 2008 iMac. Unfortunately this meant my trusty Wacom tablet no longer worked. I tried downloading the Driver from the Wacom website but it didn't work. I thought that meant using a mouse (which I hate doing) as I couldn't convince the wife that spending all that money on a new Mac and monitor that I would now have to bu a new tablet too. While Googling for a workaround I came across this app. While expensive at £10, if it worked it would pay for itself. The instructions were easy to follow (even if you have zero computer knowledge) and precise. Even as I was doing it I was having doubts that it would work but after the process to my sheer delight my Wacom tablet was up and running as good as new on my new Mac Mini. Thanks guys (and gals?).

Our pleasure! Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us such great feedback and rating! It motivates us to further improve Connect my tablet. As it is a niche app but requires the same resource to produce it, we have unfortunately no wiggle room when it comes to pricing but I am glad that you found it to be worth it. We wish you lots of fun and success with your impressive M1 computer and your reconnected and trusted Wacom tablet!
