Simple and great!

Unlike Night Sky and several other apps, this one doesn’t play continuously annoying music and not does it try to fill the screen with pictures of bears, or other pointless mythology obscuring what I actually want to see: stars and planets. Here all I do is point and it orients the actually night sky view according to what I should see, within seconds I was able to find Jupiter and Saturn and see that Mars would get above the horizon in an hour or two.

Edit!!! I was wrong and not the app

I wrote a review complaining that the app pointed everything in the wrong orientation. I app maker got in touch to say they had fixed the problem, but if I find I have more trouble then check google to learn how to calibrate my phone.
Tried that and it didn’t work. Then to my embarrassment I realised that I have a magnetic clip on the phone’s case. This had caused the trouble all along.
I apologise the app maker and also say thanks.
This is a good app. It’s definitely worth a look.

Developer Response ,

The direction problem has been improved. Please try version1.0.30.
If there is still a problem, the magnetic sensor may be out of order, so try the calibration procedure.
(Because it is difficult to explain in the text, try google search for "compass calibration method YouTube")

Great app but...

This is a great app I really enjoy using it but I’m a bit confused because I have googled some of the constellations that look like a line on the app, like Sextans and Telescopium, and they have both got a bit more to it on google images. I’m just a bit confused if this is a mistake or something has gone wrong on my app.

Developer Response ,

There are 88 constellations. The sky is divided into 88 areas. Every place in the sky belongs to one of the constellations. The range of each constellation is determined by the International Astronomical Union. However, how to draw the line is not decided. The line has no correct answer. As you can see, the lines vary depending on the country, region, and book author. You can draw the constellation line freely.
