Cosmicast 12+

I have used Overcast and others, but have found their layout and navigation very annoying. Glad I have found this app, I hope it stays updated, because for example the podcast episode count is wrong and could be fixed?

Hi there! Thank you for reaching out. The latest updates recreate the app and add a variety of features and new things.

Purchased application before and updated, and boom! It has a subscription section. I know it’s lots of hard work put into developing applications but nevertheless, users are entitled to be informed of any major changes. This wasn’t stated in the update notes by the developer and I found that to be dishonest. I’ve never really been much of podcast fan before and this just made it worse. Will delete the application and revert back to my non-podcast life instead of spending my buck monthly or yearly trying to listen to some people’s recordings.

Regarding being charged again, this shouldn't happen, and may have been as a result of the macOS Catalyst app having different receipts compared to the iOS version. If you had the app before the subscription model change, you get the pro features unlocked (this has been tried and tested). I paid for this app when it always released and it was beginning to show some potential despite the terrible UI and frequent crashes, however latest update has hidden features behind a subscription.

So I paid for functionality which only a few weeks later I can’t access.

The Mac app also causes the UI to become unresponsive for several seconds on launch, I’d recommend using Apples podcast app, or Overcast /pocketcast if you want more features. This just isn’t worth the pain.
