Top class

This app was invaluable on our trip to CR. In fact I put it on my smartphone as well. A great deal of thought has gone into the planning. All the birds have photographic images and many have several images showing females and juveniles as well as the adult male birds.
There sound files for many of the species, which is really good. You can add your own notes on individual birds and also log your sightings as seen or heard or both. This info then shows up on the initial bird list. As long as you enter your sightings on the day you see the bird you are OK, but I found problems as I often entered mine late and had difficulty with backdating the sightings. Also I was not sure if I was on local time or the time back home when I installed the app.
It also had a great filter device where colour size and habitat could all be entered to narrow down the field, some times too much but still very useful.
I think the guys at Birding Field Guides have done a great job. Could I put in a request for another app for the Birds of Peru?
Thanks

Invaluable app.

Without this app I would’ve had no idea what I was looking at here in Costa Rica. And the very fact that you can listen to the calls gives you the ability to double confirm what you have seen. Or simply confirm what you have heard!
This is a great app. Highly recommended

Semi useful app

There are so many more things that need to be done to make it more user friendly and easier to find the bird you are looking for that I don’t think it’s worth the money.
I am currently in Costa Rica and gave up using this app within a few days and downloaded the Merlin Bird app with the Costa Rica bird pack and this has been my go to app for bird iD in the field. To top it off the Merlin bird app is free, easier to use and can be used off line.
