Couchsurfing Travel App 17+

As a full time digital nomad, I’ve been relying on CS for years and use if everyday to meet new people, and some of my best friends I have met using this app.
But there are just so many bugs that make the experience really bad. Most of the time we won’t get any notifications, and we’ll receive all of them the following day or 12 hours later.
Over the past week or so, the app just won’t connect, or it will connect for a few minutes, and then any time you try to open it to see who’s joined your group I’ll see the CS logo loading going on until eventually it says there is no connection.
This is a real shame, because the app has been out for years, and there haven’t been any UI overhauls in a very long time, so you’d hope at least the basic functionalities of it would work well.
Obviously I’ll keep using it, but just to let the developers know that all these bugs are really annoying.

I have been using this app for years and lately been paying for it, tried logging in a week ago and was informed account was blocked. Contacted customer service and didn't get response for another 4 days during which I had signed up brand new profile losing all my history and friends. Finally got a response and was told account was blocked for no reason and it was unlocked. Requested customer support advicer Andreas Nel if both profiles can be merged so, I don't lost my friends, meetings history and can use the payment I made on new profile. Was told to use my email to sign in, tried didn't work, was told to sign in using "forgot password" tried it didn't work again. I emailed again and was told I'm being very rude and abusive and they will stop responding me to me when I did not use a single abusive word, I am just very disappointed as I am not sure the people working behind this app actually understand English language and will be trying to avoid your problem they have created and accuse you and yet the problem still isn't resolved! Disgusting customer service, I wouldn't want to spend more money or hosting anyone after hosting several people in need and making some good friends.

This app helped me meet amazing people all over the world! I’m thankful for CS and the CS community. However some improvements and comments - it’s a shame that you cannot see past hangouts as it would be good to keep in contact with the people you’d just met without sounding like you want clout for your Instagram. The notifications on the app sometimes work and sometimes don’t... I was in Budapest not long ago and I got all of the messages through 1 day after I left telling me that people were waiting to meet me places. As for dangerous people, I’ve definitely met more GOOD people than BAD. However, there’s not much I can really secure in terms of safety other than being judgemental and looking at references and photos but even then people can lie, which has happened. I think as a suggestion, it should be easier for CS’ers to become verified without paying or hosting someone as many people just want to hang out. Right now, I’ve just created an album on my page of creepy guys messages and situations and this seems to have toned it down a bit.
