HOW IT WORKS
We believe Cove has a role to play in improving emotional and mental health by encouraging self-expression. We believe Cove is especially good if you experience anxiety or depression.
Cove can be used any time, but may be most useful when you find it difficult to express yourself through other means, such as talking or writing. You can use Cove whenever you feel like it. You can make music by yourself, or share what you make with others.
EVALUATED BY CLINICAL EXPERTS
We think it is important that any app that advertises about mental health takes it seriously.
That is why Cove has been tested, evaluated and trialed in the NHS and other organisations, and has been created in collaboration with clinicians and other specialists.
Cove primarily uses music instead of words to express a feeling or mood, and so it may be helpful in conjunction with talking therapies and counselling. Cove is not a substitute for professional therapy, and not suitable for those experiencing severe distress or suicidal thoughts. If you find yourself really struggling, in the app there are helpful links to organisations who can help you. Don't be afraid to reach out to someone.

I use this app to help me when I am ruminating on something, especially negative things. I make a little Cove song about it and it makes my mind a little light, a little easier to move. I love the minimal, intuitive interface, and it provides an interesting array of sounds to play with.

Great tool for mental wellbeing
This app is colourful and attractive and easy to use. I especially like the way that the user can identify their mood using colour as well as sound. There is a section where you can give you composition a title and write a few thoughts.
Percussion, melody and keyboards are all utilised to assist the user to create a soundscape-no previous musical knowledge needed.
I tried this intriguing application wondering if it would help me to cope with my episodes of low mood.
I have found putting my feelings to music actually helped lift my mood and I felt I had produced something positive. Compositions can be saved. I would recommend this as a possibly very helpful tool for people struggling to express feelings or coping with episodes of low mood.

I’m an aspie who has been suffering from anxiety and depression and is passionate about music. I’ve been having the worst depressive episode ever so I searched for an app or whatever else that could help relief some stress, found this and downloaded it out of curiosity. I’ve only had it for a day but I can honestly say that this is a brilliant, fun way to express your feelings (negative or positive) and improve your mental state in some way. This app was one of the main things that kept me going throughout the day without having the usual meltdown. So I can only thank you for making such a helpful app.
Saved my Sanity
Discovered this via NHS Mental Health advice and it is amazing. I read music and play the piano but you do not need any practical music experience at all to creat some wonderful sounds. It distracts me especially during a panic/ anxiety episode with the benefit of creating something I can use as a point of reference in the future. There’s a point to it, a purpose, a positive out of an awful episode. It is joyful, creative, uplifting and personal. I like the opportunity to add additional information if needed. You people who have made this APP deserve respect... and a BIG thank you.
