Description

Climbing is about carefully planning your route and flawless execution. In Crux you swipe on either side of the screen to move your hands or feet to a new hold - but each hold will only let you hang on for so long. Find the sequence of moves that get you to the top and execute them! And when you mastered all the challenges - Crux lets you design your own routes to share with other climbers!

"Crux gives me some of the mental joys of climbing, if not the physical and social joy of doing it myself. In these shitty times, that’s a pretty great thing." Riley McLeod - Kotaku (Sep 11 '20):

Early review

So I haven’t been playing long but already I love this game. Sure it’s challenging at times but there is always an option for ‘practice’ mode - which I like to use for a more Zen like experience. Only issue- sometimes it doesn’t register my swipes and on normal mode this often results in falls. Wish list: Get out of the gym and give us some realistic looking mountain walls to climb. Ones that may take 20 minutes to finish (maybe procedurally generated) Perhaps add some points that clip a rope when you reach them so a fall won’t put you far back :) Keep it up Devs!

Edit: Just seen a screenshot from Crux 2 on discord and we are getting out of the gym ;)

Great. But buggy

Love this game. Gets progressively challenging and taxing. Nice movement and variation. Lots to play with. But... the controls get buggy on some walls, frustratingly not moving as it should resulting in you dropping off the wall. Frustrating. Could be my device of course!

Thanks for the feedback, glad you’re having a good time! As for the issues, are you playing with swipe controls or the virtual buttons? Feel free to reach out to M1ndg4mes.studio@gmail.com and we’ll look into it!

The controls are rubbish but other than that it’s great!

Hi this is not a big criticism. I didn’t realise I could get so frustrated over such a beautiful looking and sounding game. I looked for myself at all the reviews and they all seemed AMAZING!

I’ve been looking for a new game recently that I could really get stuck into but I guess this was just not the one.

When I first started the game I have absolutely NO IDEA how to play. I looked around the apps menu for the how-to-play button. I could not find it anywhere. I thought I’d be able to just work it out for myself so I hopped on and for about 10 straight minutes I couldn’t figure it out.

I kept trying. I thought maybe this game was so easy to grasp that the controls weren’t needed. I gave u eventually and looked it up on google. Then I hopped back on the game and tried. Disclaimer!: ITS SUPER FRUSTRATING!

Anyway that’s just my opinion but you might have a different point of view.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the frustration! There should be some hints at how to control the game in the first few levels (Jungle Gym etc) but we’re going to make that a lot more obvious in the next update. You can also switch to virtual buttons in the pause menu if you prefer that!
