Travel to USA
First time using this card on my trip to USA- absolutely simple- was nervous it might let me down but it did not! Always awkward counting out cash on previous visits and having to get travel money prior to my trips… as I’m so use to cashless transactions …but this made things smooth and simple.. exactly like using my card at home!
Kept me updated with what I spent and the exchange rate as well as my remaining account balance after every single spend. App simple to use to keep track also! Amazing! So glad I found this card!!
Really would like to be able to add it to my Apple wallet to make it even simpler and totally perfect but wouldn’t change anything else!
Happy customer 🙂
Not optimised for Dynamic Island
The app seems to be stable and have an easy to use interface, but this is negated by the very poor optimisation for iPhones with the Dynamic Island. The back button appears to be within within the range of the status bar, so tapping it often results in the device scrolling to the top (normal behaviour for tapping the time) and can be laborious to precisely tap the button. The navigation options on the bottom are also situated too low down that the gesture bar is partially covering - this makes the app look unfinished, and again makes tapping the options more difficult, involving more precise taps than necessary. This is disappointing as the app seems otherwise alright, but I have never encountered an app that isn’t properly optimised for my phone. I’ve not yet used my card abroad, am only setting it up ready for my upcoming trip but the poor optimisation of the app was instantly noticeable as soon as I set it up, and genuinely harms the user experience.
Insistence on SMS to verify identity 👎when booking online
Great card but while travelling I wanted to use the card to book taxis/ travel in € and it insists on sending SMS to verify identity. The beauty of an online card is that you don’t need to do this. They can easily verify your identity by being logged on. I’m logged on and they insist on an SMS which means switching on roaming that will cost me £2 for 24 hours (which I won’t use it for other than to receive the OTP). Not Currensea’s fault that since Brexit, phone companies have started charging extortionate roaming charges (including ones who cancelled roaming charges way before the EU stopped them in Europe - you know who you are 3) but it completely takes away the convenience of a euro currency card - my saving with the exchange rate will be lower than the roaming charge. Presumably Brexit voters love all the extra hassle and fees as it’s ‘taking back control’ but for anyone who ever travels within Europe being ripped off and delayed for everything, cheers it’s less fun.
