I’ve been using Explore notes for nigh on twenty years. I’ve never found better than these. They make me think, reflect, pray and praise God, and take other action when appropriate. They don’t feed me the point of a passage on a spoon, but make me dig for it, under their guidance. That’s so much more valuable than a paragraph or two laying out the author’s opinion.The app, I’ve been using for a few years now. It’s recently upgraded and improved. It gives you all you need in one place, including all relevant references embedded in the app’s presentation of the days notes. Obviously this takes extra human input which accounts for the extra cost of the app notes over and above the paper notes. The great value, though, is that you can take the notes and your Bible readings wherever you go and take your phone. One further improvement I would make is to remove a slight bug: if I want to compare translations via a Bible app or look something up that I’ve thought of, when I return to the Explore app, it always takes me to the head of the page, not to where I was when I switched apps. It’s not a major bug, but eliminating it would make the app experience even better.

These bible reading notes are accessible for all. They are practical and challenging. So often they speak to the situation we are facing at that time.Because of the way they are published you do not need to pour over obscure texts and chapters, you are guided through. My wife and I would recommend this for everyone of whatever age who wants to take God seriously and learn more about Him. But, even if you are new to Christianity, these notes will help you get a firm grasp of scripture and the wonderful promises we have been given.

I’ve been using Explore for many years and have found it so helpful in building my faith through knowledge and understanding of scripture. The notes are so helpful and thought provoking and often challenging. When I started it would take me 5-10mins but now I find I need to spend more time reflecting and rereading to let God’s word really sink in. Finally the variety of contributors is so good and provides great variation which is helpful in listening to other ways of looking at a passage.

Explore is just such a wonderful devotional. It’s deep. It’s insightful. It’s rich. But also quick (about 5 minutes). I’ve been struggling for a long time with having a consistent devotional habit (since kids) and it’s only Explore that’s got me back into the habit. And it’s really felt easy with Explore. I really enjoy doing my Explore devotional in the morning first thing when I get up. So happy I found this wonderful devotional!
