Dailymotion Video App 12+

So I haven’t had the app for long, but so far it’s pretty good. It’s a lot easier to search for things on here than on the website, and it can produce clearer results. I am aware that you can’t get all the things on here as you can on the website but to me it doesn’t really make a difference. I mean, if I want to watch something and it’s on the website not the app I’ll just go to the website instead.

I haven’t had any problems with adverts so far, so for me it’s not too bad. It can be a bit annoying how it immediately goes on to the next title, whatever that may be, without stopping or anything. Quite confusing and a bit irritating when falling asleep while watching something.

I like it so far, but time will tell I guess 🤷🏽‍♀️

I tend to copy any links I get and paste them into a browser, as this allows full screen viewing, the App doesn’t always seem to allow that. The downside of watching a video in a browser is, if you move your phone during playback, the video switches back to portrait and pauses, with a big button saying “Watch Full Screen”. On pressing the button nothing happens. So then I try to press the mini enlarging button in the bottom right corner of the video. Because the whole screen is the videos timeline, the play head then jumps to the end of the video, and I lose the current position of the video. Aside from that, and the annoying repetitive advert that follows every video (for me it’s Tom baker reminiscing about his days playing Dr Who). The App is pretty average. Hope it’s improved soon. :)

This app is really good and honestly I don’t think the ad count is any worse than any other similar app however the main issue is some ads reset the videos after they play which is frustrating when there’s a few in the video, although I do seem to recognise that this may be an ad issue rather than an app issue as it’s the same ad that always resets videos rather than any ad played maybe something in that particular ad is disruptive to your play setting of so this may be classed as either negligent programming on the side of the ad makers or willful sabotage may be the cause.
