I listen to a lot of music through my headphones. If you have a great pair of headphones why settle for a half rate player. You can control the frequency across the range to get the perfect setting for your music, other players have fixed sliders where you can change certain frequency levels. And yes it’s definitely worth paying the £1.99 to add the equaliser, I can’t live without it. It’s easy to build playlists or play whole albums. I thoroughly recommend it to replace whatever you are using now.

I love this app. It should not, of course, exist at all but for Apples refusal to give all their iphones & iPods a proper system wide equaliser [ & replaceable batteries but that’s another matter].Being able to shift the complete eq setting sideways to fine tune adjustment makes this app wonderful. Not having to suffer reduced volume when boosting any frequency [APPLE BLACK MARK !!!] is another major plus. If only this equalizer could work on all audio output, not just music, it would be perfect.

Since my last review this app has taken kindly to the latest iOS and is much better behaved. The design is slick and appealing. The EQ system is quintessential, allowing you to customise and save multiple different EQs. So it's even more perfect for those who aren't jailbroken. It turns my expensive and horribly flat IEMs into earphones worth bothering to listen to. Without this app, my various monitors would sound considerably worse. If you want access to a fully customisable EQ player with its own playlist creator then look no further. And to boot, it's data is backed up onto your iTunes backup, so you can upgrade/switch phones and keep all your playlists and EQ settings. Can't play DRM music, but this is no matter as you can simply convert your tracks to MP3 or similar.

... add the ability to have the EQ that you fiddle with stay with the song you chose it for, instead of having to save one for later use. I hadn't had the problem of it crashing. It has reduced the "hissing" of my music a lot, and makes listening to music very much enjoyable!
This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included.
