Each ram was designed and decorated by a different well-known or emerging artist, creating a multi-coloured spectacle throughout the city. The virtual trail, as a legacy to the project, will appeal to young and old alike and encourages both residents and visitors to have fun exploring and be inspired and enchanted by the sculptures with the added fun of now being able to take the virtual rams home once collected! The Virtual Derby Ram Trail is perfect for a walking tour of Derby city centre.
On the 9 September 2021, each of the rams was auctioned off. Together with the match funding grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this helped raise a phenomenal £300,000 for Derby Museums’ Endowment, helping secure the future of Derby Museums for everyone for years to come. Derby Museums would like to thank all the sponsors, artists, collaborators for helping bring the trail to Derby and also everyone who supported us so generously through the project.

Version 2.0
This update brings AR rams to the Derby Ram Trail, allowing the user the ability to collect the virtual rams from their previous locations around Derby city.

Had a great time navigating and finding all the rams with this fun and interactive app

Loved the Rams and loved using the app. The 3D map was a really nice twist on the usual Google map and worked really well with the avatar directing you. The whole app was clutter free and the RAM eFACT cards in conjunction with the Ram cards gave added worth. Shame the photos didn’t go into your library on early versions but still easy to move them over. Great app for a great Ram Trail and we were even surprised by the AR content – more please.
Great till it started crashing
Brilliant UI and really easy to use but started crashing every time I tried to take a picture or use AR about half way round the trail.
