Why Bother?

This app looks great, has loads of flashy graphics, bright colours and assorted stuff to make you go “Oooooooh!”, but this just covers up the fact that it tells you virtually nothing. You already know the day your parcel is coming, and you will have been told that the delivery window is 8:00 - 20:00, so what else does this app do? Well it apparently gives you the opportunity to change your delivery details, but as far as I can tell, that is it. It has a lovely little graphic with a van and your delivery window. It even tells you the time you are looking at the app, but the key piece of information that this app fails to give you is a more precise delivery time. Almost every other courier I have dealings with are able to give you an idea, an hour to aim for, or even just morning or afternoon, not this app. You just get the picture of their van getting closer to your house with a time check. Great. Thanks. So my title says it all really - Why bother?

Further to my original review: I noticed from some of the replies to previous reviews that they claim that you will get a message with an hour delivery window. Well, from my experience that is rubbish. The DHL bloke appeared at my door in an unmarked van, completely unheralded by any sort of message, so I am not sure when they are going to let me know the ‘revised’ delivery time. They were pretty quick to put it up as ‘delivered’, but seeing as I met the chap at the door, that information is pretty redundant

Developer Response ,

Hi, please do send the shipment number for the parcel you were expecting to and we'll check to see what happened. The 1 hour estimate time of delivery will update on the app as soon as the parcel is out for delivery so let us take a look. Many thanks.

Placed an order online with Wilko then downloaded the DHL app to track the progress when I knew DHL were delivering it. There was a notification from DHL they had received the order, and would update when they had the parcel. Anyway 3 days later no further updates. Went to Wilko online to track the order that way and discovered DHL had received the parcel 2 days earlier and it was actually out for delivery that day. Useless.

Just to add after I got response from the developer that I received the parcel on the day I wrote the original review. Days later the app was still saying DHL were still waiting for it! I have now deleted the app.

Developer Response ,

Hi, as soon as we have received the parcel from the sender the status of the shipment will update to 'We Have Your Parcel'. We'd be happy to check to see what happened with your parcel. Please send the shipment number to

Nice app - one suggestion

Nice app - gives all the options I’d want except for one.

I don’t know why delivery companies still don’t offer a ‘do not deliver between x and y’. Seriously inconvenient seemingly always being given a delivery window between 3 and 4pm when that conflicts with the school run. I would have thought with the advancement of technology, that customers should be able to say don’t attempt delivery between those times and schedule a delivery route that works for all customers that day?

Developer Response ,

Many thanks for your review and feedback. We'll review your comments with our operational team and see how we can improve this in future releases of the app.
