Really, Really, Really bad
Ok kids, this app needs serious improvement. It’s flaky, crashes out a lot and generally is the least user friendly app I’ve ever used. It took me 10 minutes to find the ticket I bought and the app fairly frequently just shuts itself down because it’s bored most likely. It’s bored because I can’t be bothered to try and find information using it anymore. It is far too dependent on location services to be useful, it frequently decides I’m in Wigan which is a place I’ve never been. Take it back to basics allow the user to input the number of the bus and find the info (if you can already do that tell people how please). The journey planner doesn’t recognise any information typed, postcodes, road names, bus stop names (the ones used by the app when it finds nearby stops) it’s just plain useless, in fact I’m mystified by its existence. The bus tracker is OK as long as the nearby stops function works (namely it doesn’t decide I’m 20 miles away in Wigan) but I’d prefer an indication if the info I’m seeing is real-time or scheduled and not tracked. It doesn’t seem to interact with the iPhone wallet function (or whatever we’re calling that now) which is annoying, but I can cope with that. I’d suggest a user focus group for testing purposes because all that said this app has potential to be good it just doesn’t pull it off.
Terribly outdated app that crashes a lot
This app is terrible. Hasn’t been maintained properly. Still got the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen on iPhones with a notch. Crashes when you try to favourite a bus stop, when you try to select a direction in which you’re travelling after you select a bus service, and probably loads of other places (just downloaded this app 10mins ago). You also can’t access the side menu, unless you first go back to the home screen. The app doesn’t support Apple Pay. In order to buy a ticket you need to create an account, it then says your full name will be shared with other users - which is ridiculous. It also mentions you have to add a photo of yourself to be able to use a ticket in the app. It wouldn’t surprise me if all this wouldn’t be stored securely either.
Worst bus app and bus service
The app is absurdly rubbish, it doesn’t work at all, with the location and tracker is completely and utter useless, it most probably likely doesn’t have a tracker at all to track the bus in the app, false location on the app. Now the bus service as a whole is shocking, there aren’t any good enough words to describe it, it is 90% always late by 10 minutes and most cases 20 or 40 minutes late!!! Even out of that 10% it is 3 minutes late, it is barely ever rarely on time. Especially when this company is competing with its competitors like national express it is no where near as good as them and have a HELL OF A LOT OF WORK to do to even get near there service.
Diamond bus take this as constructive criticism and fix your service for everyone’s sake
