DMX apps which support ArtNet allow quick and easy control of lighting systems, but lack the time based editing features of midi based DAW software. This app receives DMX data (up to 4 universes), and converts it to 16 channels of Midi data - each of the 2048 DMX channels is mapped to a midi CC or Note - one universe of DMX uses 4 midi channels.
This data can be recorded and edited as midi data, and then played back, either through a midi to dmx converter, or directly to a midi-dmx interface such as the DoreMidi MTD-1024, which supports 2 universes of DMX output.
ArtNet testing has been done with Photon and LightKey in both Unicast and Multicast modes. Note only one ArtNet node can run on a machine at once, so controllor software may need to be run on a different computer from this app.
