The voice recognition has always worked very well compared to the alternatives I've tried. The app has since become unworkable for me. Connect to Dropbox functionality and send to email functions broke. In app account management has a broken link. I've tried to call Dragon support in my country but the phone number doesn't connect through to a service. Emailing Dragon customer support redirects me to another company that hasn't responded. I've tried creating an online customer support account with Nuance but this too is broken and I can't register. I've tried resetting, redownloading and relogging in to the app, now it tells me my subscription has expired (I'm still months from the end of the 12 month term). I'm in the bizarre situation of having an app that I can't use, that will likely renew my subscription when it runs out in a few months without my consent, and I can't even cancel it. Horrible. Avoid at all costs!

Just to confirm what other reviewers have said… I signed up on the website for the free trial and downloaded the app. But I cannot sign in to the app. Password reset does not work — no reset email ever arrives. I CAN use my details to log in to the online store, which is handy, because it’s enabled me to cancel. It’s a shame because I understand that Dragon is the best dictation software and I really wanted to try it. Perhaps it’s just me, but it seems an unusual business strategy to sell a product that customers can’t access. UPDATE: Oh, it’s set up for multi-user corporate customers! So, log in to your online account and add a user licence for yourself (see instructions in the welcome email). Then you’ll get an activation email. Open that on your phone and you will be able to create an app account. Nuance software, you should put these instructions on your website in letters 8ft tall during the initial sign-up process. UPDATE2: I liked the software but had allowed the trial to expire. I really needed to use it one day, so I went back to the shop and reactivated the license. But the app keeps saying the license has expired. I have sent the user set up email again, and logged in again to the app, and it still says that the license has expired. This is a really great product, but, honestly, they make it almost impossible to use. The absurdity of it is almost overwhelming! UPDATE3: Six days later and it still doesn’t work. The licence is assigned correctly in the online portal. App reinstalled. Still doesn’t work. Have given up — so much for Dragon, what a waste oftime!

I am astonished by the low average ratings for this app and would urge anybody serious to try it. I have been following speech recognition including the Dragon computer apps for nearly 20 years and this app is the best ever. I discovered it two weeks ago (how did I miss it before?) and as a practising accountant I must've used it nearly 100 times in the last two weeks. Most of my work is dictating replies to emails which easily can be emailed to me and copied into the reply. I have also made extensive file notes following meetings and brief notes for sending length text messages et cetera. Speech recognition is virtually perfect – probably 99% without any technical words and the benefit of this system (compared to Siri et cetera) that you can easily personalise your dictionary adding special names technical phrases etc. I love it please please try the seven day free trial you love it! Naturally I dictated this. To this point is over 150 words probably dictated at over 90 words per minute and there were actually two recognition errors (probably due to my lazy speaking) which were very easily corrected. Must have app for any business person!

I have been using dragon dictate medical for the mac for aBOUT 3 years. Whilst it has saved me a small fortune in secretarial bills, it has been buggy and frustrating. Having noticed that the Mac OS version has been dropped I thought I would try this option and have been astounded by the improvements. It is not perfect so:The bad:1) very American - you have to remember to say “period” not stop.2) setup - when I tried to set up through the app I received an error message along the lines of my ITunes account could not authorise purchases- easy fix, register through the nuance website and then sign in on the device - sorted.3) My hospital WiFi does not alow communication to the server to train words.4) formatting is not always identical to MS wordThe good:1) I have just dictated an entire orthopaedic clinic at a much improved accuracy - no training required2) Custom words - easy to set up and train with synchronisation across devices3) Integrates very well with iPad Pro and keyboard4) Seamless saving to Dropbox5) auto text - allows the creation of regularly used phrases / paragraphs - that can be triggered by a set phrase - BrilliantAll in all - very impressed. I think the negative reviews here are largely left by people new to digital dictation. I spent the last hour of my day demonstrating the system to others.
