DrumKnee 3D Drums - Drum set 4+

Fantastic considering it can be used for free!

In the past I have not been that interested in similar apps because you had to use fingers even for the bass drum. I stumbled across this drum kit app which can be downloaded for free. I downloaded out of curiosity and as I messed on with it (without reading instructions 😚) I was impressed to find that you could even choke the cymbals.
By accident I adjusted my leg position and noticed that it triggered the bass drum! This led me to try playing the drum kit more like I would play an actual kit... and it pretty much works.
This could be so useful as a practise tool for my drum students who aren’t allowed an actual drum kit at home, so that they can still practise and enjoy their drumming at home without disturbing the neighbours.
I am yet to try the recording facility on here, and I like the fact that you can choose songs to play along to.

Soooo satisfying!!!

Firstly, the knee drum technique works beautifully - I thought it would be a mess of mistriggered hits but it's not and it's very natural and fun to use! (Tip - lift your heel up keeping the ball of your foot down not the other way around)
Secondly, nice collection of kits with high quality useable sounds. Graphics also are lovely.
Thirdly, the feel of playing it is just right - I get the same little buzz playing it as on a real kit, and I've never found that with drum machines before - whether hardware or virtual. Its designed in such a way that you improve your skills naturally as you play it, just like a real kit. I.e. theres not a hard limit on how good you can get. The roll feature is perfect and very controllable once you get the hang of it, and gets around the lack of bounce in your fingers that you'd get from a real kit with sticks.

Best Drum App EVER!

Absolutely love this app and grabbed the earlybird discount! To the developer: It would make this app all the more better if you could have the option to move the positions of the drums/cymbals, enable touch sensitive hits (if possible) to add ghost notes etc. and finally if there is a way to add a double bass pedal feature that would be amazing (I’m not sure how this could be implemented - perhaps having the option to set triplets/quadruplets etc. with one movement?)
