Dulux Visualizer 12+

The concept is good, but definitely not user friendly, takes a lot of trial and error to get anything working. Shows some nice new colours, but couldn’t figure how to apply these to my saved projects. Couldn’t stop it applying the colour to the ceiling when I just wanted the wall coloured. A bit of a way to go unfortunately…might check it out sometime in the future…but maybe not. Seems like a glorified version of ‘colour fill’ that’s used in Microsoft programs.

Prior to the latest update I was really pleased with this app, it was easy to use and gave me a lot of ideas. I had lots of different ideas and plans saved in the app for each room in my house, with long term plans to update and work with these.

Sadly I’ve just gone in to take a look at some of my ideas, and the new update appears to have deleted everything I had in there! So all the work I’d done matching colours and planning rooms has been lost! I’m really annoyed by this, because at no point was I made aware that an update would clear everything, nor did the previous version give any option for storing your designs outside of the app. It’s frustrating and a huge waste of my time, and I really don’t know what they felt the need to redo the app for. It was perfectly fine prior to the update.

Edit: Trying to actually use the app is a nightmare! It’s turned pictures of rooms the wrong way up, I can’t easily find the paints I want, and when I do find the paint and add it as a favourite, I then can’t select it to colour the picture with! I can’t choose it from the palate either, as it doesn’t show you the names before forcing you to select it, and then I can’t separate walls from ceilings. This is the worst app update I’ve ever seen. Can we please have the previous version back?? If not then I’ll be deleting this app, as it’s now utterly useless.

Although you don’t get a completely true representation of the colour on your phone screen, this app is awesome for getting general ideas for colour directions with a tap of your phone. It’s excellent for getting ideas for designer contrasting colours that I would never have thought of. And being able to order sample pots through the post is wonderful - one less trip to the hardware store, who may be out of my choices anyway. Easy to use once you’ve figured it out. APP DEVELOPERS - can you work out a way to be able to scroll through the photos taken after visualisation in a series to compare them rather than having to go in and out of the photo section to view different photos?
