Following the hymns

This is a good app and follows on from the Lent programme well. However it does not provide the text of the hymns, unlike the Lent series. It is difficult to follow the words of the hymns with ‘classical’ singing unless you already know the words. Please, please provide the words. Better still, use singers that can be followed and understood. Some of the Lent programme was a little spoilt by inappropriate style of singing, which is repeated here. For example ‘All things bright and beautiful’ would have been much better with younger voices or maybe a soloist? The singers are very good but just used wrongly!

Great App - Teething Issues!

This is a great app with a simple and clean design but it’s not without issues that need fixing quickly before putting people off using it! I started using this CofE app just over a week ago and came across the scrolling issue mentioned by another reviewer on 12th July. Basically when you’re in the “listen” mode you cannot scroll down to the bottom of the text you’re listening to. Then today another issue appeared where the “listen” button takes you to the listening screen but doesn’t play!
I’m disappointed that such a good idea for an app that has great potential to help many people with their daily spiritual journey is being hindered by what I’m hoping are just teething issues that will hopefully be easily and promptly fixed.

Scrolling issues

Tried the app for the first time. The first reading was a psalm and I could not see the last 2 verses clearly because the scrolling mechanism would not allow the text to clear the back-play-forward buttons that sit at the bottom of the screen. There’s a slight gap between the buttons and the bottom of the screen and I had to place the text in that gap in order to try and read the last 2 verses. Also, the last verse only partially cleared the bottom of the screen, so you could only see the top half of the letters.
These issues occurred whenever there was too much text to read without scrolling. I didn’t try it but I’m assuming listening to the verses would be the option in these cases.

I was surprised that such basic issues were present in a modern app. Maybe it was just my phone.
