DVD Maker Pro-DVD Creator Burn 4+

I have used the Apple software iDVD for years however it stopped working in the past month.

I purchased this as an alternative and I am really impressed. It was very simple to use and worked well.

You can add videos or photo slide shows and make menus with music, buttons and text etc.

The themes are not as good as the old iDVD software, but overall it gets the job done.

I really liked the ability to crop photos in the slides show mode.

The ability to drop and drag out of photos and itunes was not great, but that is easily resolved by exporting the media you want to use into a folder and then bringing it in from there.

This one really does do, 'as it says on the tin!' and so easy.

Well done to the developer, for a highly customisable App, that manages to retain simplicity. A lot of thought has gone into this one.

Contrary to some other comments, it's possible to do more than obvious at first sight.

Multiple burns are easy, as if the Project is done properly, i.e. you create a Folder/Image first. Not only can you test play the result before committing a disc, but you can then close the App and use 'Burn to Disc' from the the Folder/Image in 'Finder' and burn a million, if you like. I've never understood why some seem to want to go straight to Disc and miss out the Create Image bit with any App and end up having to recreate a project many times.

Projects can be saved, to come back to later, great.

Custom Templates can be Saved, by deleting the Video File from the first page, on a project you are happy with and want to use again with other files and then 'Save As', name it something you can remember and you can reuse it again with other files and the Project file size is really small, taking up no space at all.

Very flexible Layout with position guides, nice.

Motion Menus work very well.

Personally, I would an like an Auto Chaptering Option, say of 5 mins, but not important. Also, perhaps larger Window Resizing. Fine on my two 21.5" iMacs, but a tad small on the 27" 5k, but still is very useable.

The fist disc I tried to burn failed. The program was trundling along nicely until it got to 55% then the Disc spun-up briefly before the program stopped - totaly unresponsive. I had to force it to quit, because I could not operate the Macbook at all. I tried again wuth another disc, this time all was well. However, I have since suffered the same problem with a further two discs (from a different batch).
Apart from tose problems, I am happy with the App, but it is early days, I only got it a few days ago.
