It’s good, but the parts that are bad...

... make it really hard going. It doesn’t work well with the auto-capitalisation of the iPad, and like most language apps there’s NO flexibity - so if you capitalised a word, or if you didn’t add an ¨ above an e, u, or a, then you’ll fail.

A lot of the concepts are not clearly introduced, and the short introductory videos are more of a soap opera than explaining the concepts of German. Which is a shame, as the videos are great. However, German as a language has A LOT of grammatical concepts, so a bit of budget towards explaining things we don’t have in English would have been more useful than the ongoing saga of Nico.

Finally, it logs me out all the time.

App keeps closing

Looks like a good app, but I even couldn’t register because the app closes when I click on register. I hope bug issue will be fixed.

Best language learning app for German

Surprisingly with all the advances in tech, learning a foreign language hasn’t quite caught up ... but this app does traditional audio-visual better than any I’ve tried. It uses realistic scenarios that develop functional German in an immersive way. You hear lots of native speakers and learn practical skills, while developing the underlying grammar that is so crucial to good German. Much much better than the mind numbing Duolingo and it’s free!
