Looks nice, but that’s it.

I recently switched to eON, the app looked decent- a nice animation when opening it and nice graphics showing the status of my switch. But that’s it. I tried to submit my opening meter readings when asked, I tried several times but always get a message that’s says “there’s a problem, contact customer services below”. So I clicked on “contact us”, submitted a message then guess what? I got another error saying “there’s a problem”.
I gave up with the app and tried the website instead, which looks like it was designed in 2005 for WAP enabled phones. I managed to submit my electricity reading successfully, but it does t let you add gas at the same time. The app then told me both had been submitted successfully and the switch was in track. But then today I get an email saying they still need my gas reading. Sort it out eON. First impressions for new customers are everything, and this is not a good impression I e got so far.

Do not download! Cancel any EON accounts and switch! Nothing but trouble

This app was rubbish two years ago it’s still rubbish now when I re downloaded it.
I am having problems with the actual website trying to top up. EON take my money out of my bank and then don’t put the credit on the meter!! And I have to call up every time. I think they have been briefed that they are to deny and deny there are problems! So please beware. I have made several complaints and they have all been closed by the advisors before even getting to a manager apparently. They made me feel insane and that I was doing wrong until I spoke to an advisor and told her that there are thousands of complaints out there exactly the same as mine. Do they not know we have access to internet to research? Lol. She admitted there were wide spread problems but no solution. Finally some honesty. The problems are deep within this company and they are being covered up, Albeit not well. I feel sorry for those this is happening to that may not understand as well and are therefore fully being taken advantage of by this company. Shame on you EON! A word of advice EON If you just took some accountability for your issues maybe we would be a bit more understanding and not have customers losing so much trust in you! I see your company being the ones that will be having to offer compensation in the future for all the unfair treatment, dishonesty and barely legal practices you are conducting.

Hi Lianne, I'm sorry to hear of the problems you've had. The problem you've encountered whereby the money has left your account but not gone onto the meter is a known issue. It should happen very rarely and I do apologise it's affecting you more frequently. It's always worth giving it a couple of hours and then if not sorted getting in touch and we can push the top up through to your meter(s). If you're not able to top up using the app we recommend the full website, you can also call our automated line on 0800 015 6368

Yep worst app I’ve ever used!

When my meters were first installed the app refused to let me login, just because. I didn’t know apps could wake up on the wrong side of bed until that day. I contacted customer services and they deleted my account and told me to set up another, but it still didn’t work, so they did it again, third times a charm right? Actually, no, five times was a charm for eon and me that day. My favourite part about logging in is when it comes up with ‘invalid login details’ just to mess with you, then lets you get into the app without re-entering anything. You little prankster you.

So I’m finally logged in now, so it must be all sunshine and rainbows mustn’t it? Unsurprisingly no, no it wasn’t. I watched the screen as the app tried to find out the balance of both meters, and I waited, and I waited and I waited, the app didn’t manage to find out the balance of my meter for an entire week (that is not a joke).

Once I was able to top up my meters, or so I thought, I clicked on the link to bring up the top-up page, legend has it that it’s still trying to load the page to this day. what Unfortunately, I don’t know if that’s true, I abandoned this app in favour of the website, that actually works, which is just as well, because I actually quite like having gas and electric in my home. I had visions of sitting my living room rubbing two sticks together to make fire.
