ECOVACS HOME 4+

Ecovacs has been a huge blessing to my dust allergy condition. Ever since I started using it, my sneezing has stopped completely. I haven’t used the asthma inhaler even once for the past 5 months.
However I would like to honestly point out a few drawbacks; a few modifications that would make it much more user friendly. 1. The middle wheel is plastic and it causes scratches on ceramic tiles. That should also be of rubber 2. Removing the collected dust is really a very very difficult task. Hence keeping the gadget clean is also tiresome. Easily replaceable, disposable bags lining up the dust compartment would have been more helpful. 3. Mopping needs much improvement. Only one part of the mopping duster actually touches the floor. 4. If the circumference was lesser it could cover more areas easily.
On the whole I am super happy with this gadget and I have recommended it to sooo many contacts of mine.

The Omni X1 cost a lot of money. Probably one of the most expensive robot vacuums on the market. I bought one thinking it would do all they claim it can. It was difficult to set up and needed to change my router setting to 2.5GHz or the robot won’t connect to the phone. That was not straightforward at all! It also keeps going off-line and needs to be set up again several times. The robot does not hear me when I call it to wake it up and fails to act on instructions. It does not operate and clean logically in straight lines. It does not clean under my kitchen units in spite of there being enough space for the robot to pass through. There is no help desk or support over the weekends so I need to take time out of work in the week to call and try get this resolved or request a refund. It’s overpriced considering the poor functionality. I do question all the reviews everywhere online. Are they paid for by Evovacs? I regret buying this now. Very expensive mistake. Spare parts are overpriced also. I make no apologies. I give this 1/10 for overall setup and performance.

I have since called the Ecovavs technical support twice today. They have not been able to help me. I’ve not been left with a robot that does not work. I have sent several emails and had no replies. Ecovavs support is appalling. My next step is legal action to get a refund.

I call my robot Frank and he is my best friend. As I have painful arthritis in my fingers he is a real help in keeping our downstairs rooms clean especially the entrance hall.
He does have a few annoying habits like taking ages to re- adjust if I use him upstairs and he doesn’t like power cuts so I tend to disconnect him if we are away.
I have now had my robot for nearly three years and I am seriously considering buying another for upstairs, especially as Frank is quite heavy to lift upstairs plus he doesn’t like being moved as stated above.
When setting the maps up for these machines, put any cables out of reach and move any excess items from the floor like toys etc. Don’t expect any logic just let it get on as it seems to work - just watch any raised ledges e.g. our fireplace which Frank was determined to mount! Once the map is complete you can exclude areas. Also the robot might need to recharge its battery and will then complete its mapping.
