What a mess
The latest update has now spoiled the egress system. The blurb says that the egress app can be used as the main email package on the phone.
I tried this as I have office 365 home subscription; but when I try to log in the app tells me that I can’t log in because I have a hotmail address. This appears to mean that I would have to increase the cost of the office subs to a business package which I’d rather not do.
What was the point of updating the app if it can’t be used as intended?
Developer Response ,
Unfortunately, you will need a work or school 365 account to use our full mailbox functionality but we will be adding support for personal accounts in the future. In the mean time you can continue to use our app in Reader mode which still allows you to access your secure emails via your normal mail client.
Thank you for your feedback and we will update our messaging to make this clearer in our next release.
Useless since upgrade
I can no longer open secure emails via egress on my iOS devices. It worked fine before the upgrade. I've now been told by egress support (after 2 weeks of hopeless ‘support’ and being passed between 6 different egress ‘support’ people), that I should delete the app and use the web browser. Not much use when on the move. They apparently need permission from Apple to fix this. What a time to upgrade the app, when we’re all working from home and really need access to our confidential documents. Sort it out Egress!
A dreadful upgrade.
I have been using Egress for my work for 18 months. It used to be fine and I recommended it to clients and others. But... the upgrade of the app is truly dreadful. I have a work email address that is neither Office 365 nor Exchange, so I’m unable to access the system, or even see messages I’ve sent previously, from my phone!
This is costing me time and money - why on earth did you make this change?!
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
