Electric Miles 4+

This is my second review on this app, the first time the app was set to charge under solar power but I was trying to charge at 1am, not a lot of solar energy at that time, but got better when it was corrected. The latest version of the app corrects the annoying habit of having to enter the start time 2-3 times before accepting it all I need now is for my energy supplier to be added to the list, it been promised in the new year.

Awful

The app that came with my charger was clunky but it did what I needed it to do turning the charger on during my off peak period. Having, I thought, just updated my projectEV app I’ve now ended up wasting hours trying to get an entirely new system to work. This doesn’t connect to the charger half the time frequently giving a connection error. I’m trying to set the app to use my off peak hours but it insists I turn off the "restricted hours", but the page to do that says they are already off and there is no way to check whether the "Smart Charging" is set to do what I want it to. The home page says that no there is "no charging window this period", while the setting pages gives me a car ready time of 6pm and the ability to disable smart charging but no information on what is actually set. Certainly last night it did not charge the car, so I had to start it manually this morning before going out! Will it charge tonight or will I be late for work while I wait for the car to charge enough!
And to cap it all using this app seems to have disabled the projectEV app that, while clunky, worked to charge my car offpeak. So I cannot go back to the old system that worked without reseting everything.

The support link just goes to the website which just seems to be a brochure for the app with an email link at the end of several pages of scrolling.

I very rarely write reviews, in fact the app has to be really good or really bad for me to let the community know what to expect. This app unfortunately is on the bottom end of the scale. Now I’m no novice to tech, electric vehicles or how to use apps, most of my life I’ve been in the thick of several of these industries so I expect this app to be plain sailing and real helpful in my charging plans.

Ohhhhh no, no no you are wrong. Put simply, none of the functionality works. It doesn’t communicate with the vehicles, it ignores schedules in fact it actually ignores everything and has for the last week prevented my car from charging at all unless I force it to manually.

I need not say anymore, just don’t bother with it as it’s one of the worst apps I’ve ever used and caused me a lot of ball ache trying to sort it. I’ve now reverted back to the manufacturer app and it works flawlessly, ok not as many features but hey, if the advertised features don’t work then they are no use anyway.
