On the iPhone, Elk is a handy and interactive rates table.
It picks a suitable starting value, and converts the next ten values to your home currency.
Swipe left to increase these values; swipe right to decrease them. Tap on a value for more accuracy. Or press deeply on an iPhone 6s or later to peek.
On the Apple Watch, Elk is optimized for watchOS 3. It launches instantly, and is ready to convert whenever you raise your wrist.
You tap, swipe and rotate the Digital Crown to convert currencies.

It’s not every day something as simple as a currency converter can be revolutionized. But this Apple Design Award winner has done it—especially on Apple Watch. Elk uses your location to determine the currency and ditches typing numbers in favour of showing 10 conversions at all times. The result is a fast, intuitive, and wonderfully smooth experience that takes the pain out of one part of travelling.
Nice design, but over priced
A clean interface, useful with apple watch but unable to convert exact values. You need to purchase the app to use your own exchange rates (at £4), which seems a bit expensive considering there’s loads of free ones in the App Store.
Lack of detail an issue for me
A great design and works well on an Apple Watch but the iPhone app is unable to convert at a detailed enough level for me. For example, you can't immediately convert a figure like 317 or 4550 as the increments aren't at a low enough level - although strangely the Watch app allows this but I don't always wear my watch. If you need this level of accuracy and don't own an Apple Watch perhaps this isn't the app for you.
