Pump with Elvie 12+

I love the fact that I can move around while pumping and go out with my baby. This pump has given me my freedom back. Some people have said they don’t think it’s as good as the hospital grade pumps but I tried both and got the same volume out, but the hospital pump hurt more.
I am not a fan of the new app as I have two pumps and you can’t see both at the same time anymore, as far as I’m aware. However, it automatically documents the volume pumped and the amount of the time, although the volume often needs to be corrected.
The other drawbacks are it’s not cheap and neither are the parts and also you can’t reassemble it after sterilisation without touching the parts.
Other than that I still hate pumping but love the pump.

This product has great potential but at £269 per pump I’d expect it to be far more fine tuned.

Customer service is excellent and they have sent out a new pump to me twice when mine stopped charging. Both within 24hours. Plus the chat helpline is available 24 hours. Fantastic!

There seems to be an issue with the batteries and although I’m not certain I’m pretty sure the batteries are not suited to being charged on mains electric as it seems to go wrong when I’ve done so but better on a laptop etc.

The amount of milk it says you have pumped is hugely inaccurate and will tell you it’s full when it’s not. It worked well the first couple of times I used it but after that not so great.

The battery life is pretty poor and I find it need charging after every pump. Really not ideal.

The spare parts and accessories are really expensive

Even though it says you can, you definitely can’t sterilise in heat. Everything warps badly. pretty sure they know this as the accessories are only guaranteed for 90 days when the motor is for 2 years 🤔

That said it’s been such a great thing for me anc given me back some freedom. I just don’t tend to use the app as it’s so inaccurate and often loses contact with the pump anyway.

Not sure it’s worth the £269 yet but hopefully if they sort these issues then it would be pretty close.

What a fantastic app. Really handy and allows me to control what’s going on without fiddling in my bra! Milk measurements are slightly off when nearing full, but nothing that can’t be adjusted afterwards. I love the layout of the app however I’d love the option to show both ml/oz at the same time, I’d also like to see the times between each pump shown in between when on the home screen . It would totally help new mums figure out their new routine, or to help when dropping a pumping session. Or even the option to put in your routine roughly so it can estimate the time of your next pump & then a reminder! I do every 3h during the day and 4.5h at night. It would be awesome to put this in as a guideline then change accordingly if I’m a little late/early.
