EMERGENCY HQ: Firefighter Game 12+

Love this game. Highly addictive with well thought out missions with a good learning curve. The higher level you go doesn’t mean all missions become difficult, they all still range from very easy to sometimes frustratingly difficult which for me is great. Just because you fail to complete a mission doesn’t mean you get stuck, there are others to do to keep you going and if a mission is too difficult for your level you can abort it altogether and swap it for another one but it will cost gems to do it.
My issue is the wait times when you’ve completed the ones available. If you wish to continue you can use gems again but that can get very expensive very quickly. You’ll waste gems hand over fist as it is VERY addictive to play. After a while it becomes another cash cow and although I’ve got no problem spending SOME money the way this is set up is to get as much out of you as possible as fast as possible if you fall into that trap. Unfortunately when that happens I tend to delete the game as no game is worth spending ridiculous amounts of money on and since EA first brought in IAP’s there are too many games that are spoilt by the whole concept. Shame as it really is a good game play wise.

Edit: A wider variety of offers would be better too instead of the same one sitting there all the time which I’ve bought once but isn’t good enough to see me buying anymore.

I absolutely love this game. Their is a great balance of missions that get progressively harder as you upgrade your buildings and emergency teams but aren’t impossible like some games. Best of all is there are no annoying pop up ads to ruin the game, you have the option of watching an ad to get more missions or using diamonds so it’s your choice whether you want to watch ads or not which I love. I only have 2 small constructive criticisms. I agree with another reviewer that the people rescued from buildings should just be transported to hospital, it’s not realistic to be jumping and waving while you’re being rescued and then need treatment when you reach the ground. My only other niggle is that the emergency docs are disproportionately slower to heal than all the other services. Even when you have them trained to the max of your hq they take too long to treat patients, they always feel like they’re 5 levels behind everything else even when they are the same level. Still totally worth downloading, love it.

The game it’s self is pretty good. There are the odd couple of levels that are marked as being low level where everything is working well. Then a random explosion is thrown it which makes the level almost unbeatable.
The push to get emeralds (obtained with real money) is far too great and progression is limited in this game unless you are prepared to spend real money, for example. You have 4 active missions at any one time, however one of those missions usually requires one of the buildings from the next level up and therefore cannot be completed. To ‘Swap’ this level out for one you can complete you need to spend 5 emeralds, but even then you cannot guarantee you won’t get another mission requiring the same building. I have noticed that if you leave that mission on your page none of the other missions that appear ever require the upgraded units. Therefore you can only assume this is a deliberate move by the company. Build times are also excessive as well and spoil the enjoyment, again for example I’m upgrading my HQ from level 4 to 5 so it’s not a long way into the game. However the build time is 48 hours or 385 emeralds. So you can appreciate the cost £3.99 will get you 500 emeralds or if you save them up from your logging in bonuses that’s 14 and a half weeks worth. It’s a shame really as this does spoil the gameplay for me.
