The app is free to download. Subscribers receive unlimited access to recipes. Users need to be subscribed and logged in to access recipes in the app. Non-subscribers may access the recipes by starting a free trial. If you used an earlier version of the Epicurious app, you can access your library of saved recipes in the new app by signing in with the same email address associated with your previous account. Users who have trouble accessing recipes can e-mail us at apps@epicurious.com for assistance.
The subscription includes a 1 week free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Subscriptions may be managed by the users, and auto-renewal may be turned off by updating the user’s App Store Subscription settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the users purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase.

Downloaded this app months ago, wanted to 'test drive' it and after all this time it still crashes at the most inconvenient moments...usually when I'm looking through a selection of theme recipes or when I'm trying to create a shopping list! Yes there are American versions of ingredients with no English equivalents, would save me alot of time fishing around on safari, searching for alternative names for cilantro!Also, I agree with previous reviewer, weight n measures in the alternative would be ideal! On a positive note I have learnt more about the humble chilli dish and it's variations according to region. I have tried to cook a couple of the featured chillis from this app with moderate success...only wish that I could buy the mole/ancho chilli sauces from Britain!Nice to have recipes with some background to the chef and area of origin. I love the authenticity of some of the recipes and the new inspiring ones.This app is on my first page as I use it a lot.
Great app but TERRIBLE customer service

I was a print subscriber to Bon Appetite and Gourmet for many years and eventually went Epicurious. I love the app. Everything about it. Saved recipe box, suggestions, clustering of ideas, etc. however, when I had a subscription issue and was not able to access my account, I ran into nothing but brick walls and being ignored. I was passed around from the App Store to the app service team to the parent company, Conde Nast. The UK CONDÉ nast team said it wasn’t their responsibility and told me to look it up on line. Shame on all of you. I eventually solved my problem a year. Later, and after two rounds of being re-subscribed despite no access. I’ll still use the app but truly the most painful online service issue I have ever come across.

Application works great and has been very stable. Unfortunately I cannot see what I’m typing here as the text is white so sorry for typographical errors. I am also using voice dicks on so it could come out weird or talk about coffee machines or something instead of what I meant. Anyway back to the review. I got a nice amount of stuff from this... I don’t really cook and this won’t get me cooking, but it will serve as very nice inspiration for my cook character who I write as. I know that sounds weird but it’s nice for creative writing when I can’t do things in real life. So thank you for making it free :)
