Works perfectly with my Model 3

I can’t fault this app whatsoever, it has always worked seamlessly with my rolec charger since I had it installed and although I see some instances on the reviews of people seemingly having issues with it not charging their vehicle I can honestly say I have never once had this problem.

I have it smart charging when I can to make the most of cheap electricity on my octopus off peak EV tariff and whenever I need to ‘fill’ the car I ensure the ‘only charge off peak tab’ is switched off and never had an issue.

So glad I made the change to an electric car and so pleased I picked this charger.

Not so smart charging app

I had my smart charger installed July last year. It hasn’t worked properly since. I have tried time and time again to get help from the helpdesk and so far the only thing they can suggest is that I turn off the smart charging ability and use it as a standard charger. What is the point in paying all the extra money for a smart charger and then using it as a standard charger. Smart charging is enabled it just doesn’t happen so in the morning my car hasn’t been charged. Therefore my entire journey is spent using fuel which is not why I purchased a plug-in hybrid. As far as I’m concerned the app is only good for telling me that my car is plugged in wow I knew that I put the cable in myself.
My energy supplier is now offering off-peak electricity packages to allow for cheaper charging rates overnight but I can’t take them up on this as my charger doesn’t work and quite frankly as far as I’m concerned it never will do. There is no telephone number you can ring for support only email that take a few days to get a reply. They ask the same questions even though I provided a lot of information they still can’t fix it. Eventually I got a phone call to try and resolve my problem before Christmas here we are in February and I still haven’t had a resolution

Very unreliable with model s

Have been using this for about a week with a Rolex wall pod and it has a few really serious problems.
First - no matter what tariff it is set to it seems to connect and disconnect at odd times of the day. Usually these are peak times so there is nothing “smart” about this.
Second - having given up on the smart charging bit, decided to make it dumb and simply set the times I wanted (matching off peak hours) through the Tesla. Result? It didn’t charge at all. Could be a fault with the Rolec, but I have no way of knowing. Anyway if you are getting up in the morning not sure if your car is going to be charged or not, then it kind of defeats the point.

Definitely could do with some serious thought. Trying to associate this with tariffs sounds like a good idea, but that could be done much more easily using a 7 day, 24 hour manual timer. It is a gimmick which would be better off dropped or at least give users the option of entering their own times.
