#LiveLent: Care for God’s Creation is the Church of England’s Lent Campaign for 2020.
It contains daily 40 reflections to help you protect and care for creation, one for each of the forty days in Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday (26 February 2020) and ending on Easter Day (12 April 2020).
For each week, there is:
• A theme, based on the days of creation as described in Genesis 1,
• A prayer for use throughout the week, with words taken from well-known hymns,
• An introduction to the week’s theme for children and families, with a Bible verse and a simple prayer.
For each day (Monday to Saturday) there are illustrated daily reflections with:
• A very short passage from the Bible,
• A short reflection on the message of the passage,
• A practical action to help you live in harmony with God, neighbour and nature,
• Full audio of the daily reflection, including a sung version of the prayer for the week.
The app also includes a daily challenge to honour and treasure the earth, suitable for children and families. On some days there are practical changes your family can make to help the environment. On others there are challenges to find out more about creation, to explore the Bible, to reflect and to pray.
There are also ‘next steps’ for individuals and churches on how to incorporate care for creation into life beyond Lent.
Live Lent has been inspired and informed by the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Lent Book 2020, Saying Yes to Life, written by Ruth Valerio (Global Advocacy and Influencing Director, Tearfund) and published by SPCK. Details of Ruth’s book and the full range of resources for individuals, churches and groups – both digital and print – can be found via www.churchofengland.org/livelent
The #LiveLent app has been developed by the team behind 2018’s award-winning #LiveLent app (Church of England, Church House Publishing and Aimer Media Ltd). It contains the content of Church House Publishing two best-selling booklets ‘#LiveLent: Care for God’s Creation’ for adults and children. The app is introduced by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York.
“This Lent, we hope both adults and children might engage in God’s plea for us to “Care for Creation”. It is an opportunity for us to rebuild our relationship with our planet, and in turn with the God who is Lord of everything. During this time, we hope you might engage in prayer, learn more about the remarkable world we have been given and build habits that last beyond the season to protect and honour the earth.” - Archbishop Justin Welby & Archbishop John Sentamu

Great little app now audio problems fixed
Thanks for quick response. Audio now plays when screen is locked. I can pray and listen to this now without it cutting out due my screen locking
Developer Response ,
We have submitted a fix for this that should be live soon
Excellent app - very user friendly
I got this app for my daily devotional and I don’t know what it is, but I have never missed a day. The content is great for helping me reflect on the Bible verse and the prayer is a brilliant guide for when having just read, you still don’t know what to pray about!
The fact that there is also an audio version of the Bible verse is a bonus. I wouldn’t change anything, but if I could add anything, it would be offering the entire devotion including reflection and prayer in audio. I guess this could be a paid feature.
Tried several times and with both Google and Apple stores. Have same problem. I get to the end and a message appears; JSON Parse error:Unexpected identifier “The”
Another issue: I am logged in to receive email notifications, which I do but would like to use the app. I try to Log in on the app stores and get a password issue. When I enter forgot password, it then doesn’t recognise my email address????
