Description

Fade In Mobile is a companion app for Fade In Professional Screenwriting Software for working with Fade In (.fadein) files. It is specifically designed to work with the unique interface and capabilities of your mobile device.

It takes care of proper script formatting, including standard script styles, and provides tools for quickly selecting character and location names, and for efficiently navigating your script.

This basic version of the app is intended to give you an idea of what working with the full version is like. Create scripts on your device, export them to your iCloud/Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive account, and import scripts as read-only.

Upgrade to the full, paid version of Fade In Mobile to import your work from the full or demo desktop version of Fade In Professional Screenwriting Software (including imported PDF and Final Draft scripts).

When upgrading to the full version, first export your work to your iCloud/Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive account, or to your device. Note that this free version allows read-only import.

Follow @fadeinsoftware on Twitter for updates.

It used to be a great (and free) app

I've been using it for a year or two now. Before, the only 'annoying' thing was a reminder that this is a free version, but can't complain about that. In the past three months, the text keeps getting highlighted at random, so the undo button became my writing assistant.
But the dealbreaker for me is changes not saving. Sometimes at least I got a 'can't save' pop up, so I could paste a new version to another writing software. Other times I just lost the progress, and it's nowhere to be found in the backup.

Won’t import its own desktop file

Useless! When trying to import my saved file from the desktop app I just get ‘unable to import’. Surely this is the most basic function.

I must be lucky then

I’ve had no problems with this free screenwriter app. If anything it’s taught me how to write a script in common format. And that’s just from getting the hang of what it has to offer. I can now write a script freehand because I know how it looks and what is expected of me as a writer (if that makes sense) HOWEVER when I first used it, I did go back to my script to find some word have been changed to random symbols for example, She was very happy to be chosen BECAME She was £:.& hap:& to be chosen. But that has not happened since I re downloaded it and I have written much more than the last time I used the app so maybe the newest update was a major fix. Basically so far so good. Worth a go EVEN the tutorial is very useful and funny to read
