Famly App 4+

Overall, I’m happy with the functionality of this app, however there are a few sections which could be improved upon.

A lot of the admin type information is saved in small nooks/subcategories which makes finding information a bit tricky sometimes.

I appreciate the new feature of being able to download pictures of your child from the newsfeed, however I’d love to see this extended to the archive of previously tagged pictures as there are hundreds I’d like to be able to export (ideally as a folder/link rather than one by one) to ensure quality of the pictures rather than having to rely on screenshots.

Having skimmed a couple of reviews, seems I am not alone in my thoughts:

Generally a good app, gives the right level information for my daughter (the joy when ‘17:35 BM’ appears I can’t tell you).

Biggest gripe: Photos. The implementation for something so basic is terrible…

- Grid view to select from? Not interested in 100+ photos of other children…
- As a minimum: ability to pick up where you left off after closing the photo view. Unless you skip through the 100+ in one go, you have to do it all again, not great for those 30 second check ins.
- Less of a gripe but it would be so easy to implement a share option, to save to camera roll or send on WhatsApp etc. screen grab and crop is time consuming

Smaller issue for me but as others have said the notifications are erratic (hard to clear), and not customisable enough.

Finally, the ability to allow account access to a family member (the doting grandparents!) would be welcome (unless I’m missing how to do this). There may be data privacy reasons behind this choice potentially, so reserving judgement.

Anyway, appreciate its not a competitive space so motivation for innovation probably very low with the developer but these are such easy things it isn’t asking much.

Your feedback regarding the photo implementation is valuable and it's understandable that the grid view and the ability to pick up where you left off would make the app more user-friendly. We have just updated the app to give the ability for parents to download photos of their child, it does have to be enabled by the setting. Generally quite like this app but would love to be able to save photos and to also view a little more on the notifications- I often get a notification from nursery and would be useful if it was able to show the first line of the text like with iMessages or WhatsApp so that I know if it’s just a standard communication like a newsletter to everyone or if it requires me to open and read it (during work hours it’s difficult to keep using my phone)
